It had to be asked, did Tiger choke today?

I would say no. No choke.

Choking is allowing the pressure of the situation to alter one's game. I don't think this was the case w/ Tiger today.

He just putted about as bad as I've ever seen him putt from hole 1 through 18. Who'd ever believe Tiger would shoot a 75 in the last round of a major? Sheesh.

Great win by Yang. I expected him to be the one who choked, but he outplayed everyone and is a deserving champion.

As far as Padraig Harrington ..... maybe someone 'rushed' him eh? A snowman on a par 3? Whatever.

Nothing to do with choking, but what an exciting final round. Yang kept his cool and was making "Tiger shots" - think the nerves got to him a bit, but that shot over the tree on 18 was unbelieveable! They both took it down to the wire, which is how it should be on the last day.

I'd actually like to get gxer's take on whether Tiger choked. This goes back to my previous question, which was misunderstood. The fact that he had a bad day putting doesn't, at least to me, mean that he choked. He just showed that even he is a mere mortal.

Tiger didn't choke. He was just unable, for whatever reason,to get out of second gear.

Normally,he'll just flick a switch (figuratively speaking) and take his game up a notch ;today,it wasn't there.

Now,Kenny Perry in the Masters, that's what you call a choke...

Ok, I think we all agree Tiger didn't choke.

What about Tom Watson in the British Open?

Unfortunately, Watson did choke. His approach shot took a bad bounce, but he should have been able to recover. He followed a bad break with a bad shot, and missed a makeable putt.

Watson wouldn't choke on a 4 pound peanut. This sounds like a smart ass remark.
Not meant to be probably shouldn't have used it. But Tom has been in to many wars to
choke. He was making mistakes yes, I believe that was his trying to intimidate the fellow
he was playing with. Until the back nine he was sure he could win. Then being the pro that
he is he knew the guy was red hot and he was probably gonna lose.
I give him credit for drawing on years of experience and make it a play off.
I feel he played better on the last day then Tiger did his last day. I don't think Tiger choked.
He just didn't have his A game.
