What are the best and worst attended tournaments?

From what I've read and seen the Women's Open, Wegman's, Shoprite, Kraft Nabisco, British Open,Morelia,Guadalajara, Evian Master's, are among the best attended.

Also from what I've seen and read the NW Arkansas event, some of the now defunct events in Florida are among the worst attended. Any more?

Fet.. I believe the reason some tournaments like the one in Northwest Ark.
had poor attendance is the weather has been terrible from the first tournament to the last one.
Lets see what will happen if they have good weather for a week.
I really believe in these days and times the top players are going to have to
reach down inside and play more tournaments instead of crying were stressed
and to tired to play. They need the spirit of the founders that made it
possible for them to make the money they make.

Question

I can't speak for other Florida defuncts, but the Ginn( damn! I hate even typing his name) Open at the Reunion resort was pretty well attened as far as I'm concerned. I was at all of them as were some other members of this board, and, while i can't speak for them, I would be surprised if they didn't agree with me.
I even attended the practise rounds and the pro-ams and found them to be fairly well attended.

Agree w/ Buzzer that the Ginn event in Orlando at Reunion was very well attended.

Its demise wasn't because of poor attendance...but rather because of Bobby Ginn's poor financial issues which screwed the Orlando event and the SC event too.

Speaking of Florida....there is more talk/rumor about the Tour Championship being held in the "central Florida" area. This would be like around November.

If anyone has read further info...please post! It's outrageous that there is not an LPGA event in Florida!

I also agree with Buzzer about the Ginn tourney, and while we're at it, the CN Canadian Women's Open is always well attended because we only get ONE tournament a year and it moves around the country - if you go one year, you might not be able to attend for another 2 or 3 years, so when it's in someone's area, they go!

That's because Canada is sooo big...did you hear about this Canadian guy who went to Japan? He was bragging how big Canada is. He said, "Canada is so big, you ride a train from Vancouver going east to Montreal. Then, you have your breakfast, your lunch, and dinner three times in the train and you still haven't arrived Montreal." The Japanese said, "In Japan, we have slow trains, too."

Presence or lack of big name players doesn't influence attendance. If it did, attendance would be impacted when big name players miss the cut or in the last round of a match play event when it's just a few players. This never is the case.

Weather has an influence. If it's raining or very hot or very cold attendance will be down. If the event is on a holiday weekend (4th of July, Memorial Day) that also cuts into attendance. If the event is held where not a lot of people live (NW Arkansas), that also has an impact.

NW Arkansas has suffered from all three of these circumstances: bad weather, holiday weekend, low population area.

Wrong. Most people buy their tickets in advance. When they advertize the tournaments...they advertise them in advance and they advertise all these well-known big players who are going to be in the tournament. Sponsors and TVs and other media outlets love those well-know players like MW, Cristie, Morgan, Paula, Suzann, etc. instead of Christine Boucher, Annie Young, Sohi Moon, Maru Martinez, etc., etc.

Your Honor, I object "argumentative".

If this is true let my esteemed colleague prove her point with facts.
