Just one of many articles in which government officials announce the tournament and praise its establishment and declare Yani Tseng the frontrunner.
You have a local offical saying it's great they are having a golf tournament in my town. Just like every mayor of every town in the US says and has his picture in the paper when a tournament comes to town.

Again when asked to sponor a tournament the Gov't said no, it was too much money. Should I post those articles? I am sure that you have already seen them in your searches.

Find an article that says the gov't is paying. What if they did, so what.

How about this for a story. Local girl from small country makes it big in the US and World golf stage and they come to her home town to play.

Why must you be so down on everything.

I'm not down on it, I just wanted some facts to back up the assumptions. I thought the more we could all know about what was going on, the better it would all be. Obviously guess I was wrong.

As for the government. When first asked a few years ago, they said it was too much money. Then they managed to make it happen.

Sure. In China they're just involved a lot more and a lot more explicitly, for obvious reasons.

Here is the official announcement from the LPGA

LPGA.com

It sounds like it's an exhibition not an official tournament, like the tournament in Brazil earlier this year.

To be fair, that tournament in Brazil didn't have the top 80 on the money list.

Other than it's not a full-field event,and the lack of a cut,I don't understand the hostile reception it's engendering.

It's not like it's the Mojo 6 we're talking about...

1. No one said it had he same field as Brazil. I was just pointing out that it doesn't appear to be an official event.

2. I don't see any hostility. Just pointing out facts. An exhibition in Taiwan in interesting but it's not like they moved the LPGA Championship to Asia. Also, just because they're inviting the top 80 on the money list, it doesn't mean they'll all show up. For a $2 million purse divided among 90 players and no cut, it looks like a good deal, but we've seen top players choose to skip big purses before.

With IMG involved, I think it's a good bet that Wiesy will be there.

If you're wondering who else is represented by IMG, here is a list of players and their agents.

I see a pattern here. The more MW plays abroad the better the chance for her third win.
