| Checking the season's results, from May 10th to September 6th. Lorena's top finishes were - 5/10: 10th; 7/5: 8th; and, 9/6: 10th. Therefore, I can now understand why I was mystified at why Lorena was still in contention. Basically, Lorena won the POY honor by performing exceptionally well in the fall tournaments when interest is low and there are limited-field tournaments. This explains her low-key taking of the POY title. Lorena's title has unfortunately done nothing for the LPGA on the "hype" level, especially with her having won it in the "off-season" fall schedule. Aside from my comments, Lorena earned the title based on her own merit and she couldn't be a more deserving player. Congratulations! |

It would have liked it if Song-Hee or Sophie or Hee Young had shot one stroke higher, putting Jiyai into a tie with Lorena for POY. Perhaps if that long double-breaker by Sophie had not fallen....

. What a year 2009, and in 2010 we are going to the MOON! A shortened event year, (shortest in 40 years or so), and all the top pros well play as many events as they can now, especially as every number counts to a good paycheck, or holding on to your card. Super stars everywhere, from everywhere, phenoms coming through, monkeys falling, hot rookies coming soon, and its looking like Annika's shoes are being filled.... an interesting year coming for sure, with Superior golf not to be missed. Holy Cow! 8-]
