Shampi, since the course was so close to being bankrupt, why didn't they just move the event to another course? Mexico City has to have more than one course, and if Mastercard was making money off the event, why didn't they just do that? i'm just curious as to why.

Well not every course is a challenging as the LPGA requires and Tres Vidas (in Acapulco) seemed great. Lorena played with Annika here 2006 and 2007 in the skins game.

Shame that it was all held together by Lorena.

All of golf in Mexico was held together by Lorena, so it seems. There was nothing before her and now nothing again.

Hugo Rivero from Carri Sports, the company who was dealing with operations and logistic of the event, said to Reforma (a national newspaper) that they didn't get the support they needed, so the purse wasn't secured.

Then, the same newspaper asked an LPGA employee about the issue and the response was: "we have no details to disclose now, as soon as we do we'll get back to you (the reporter).

Soooo as you say, golf in Mexico is practically back to square, bummer!
