2017: Ricoh Women's British Open

This week the LPGA tour will stay in Scotland for the second consecutive week, for the playing of the Ricoh Women's British Open. Ariya Jutanugarn will be trying to defend the title she won last year in Milton Keynes, England, when she won her first Major Championship by 3 strokes over Mo Martin and Mirim Lee.

Here is my preview and lots more:

The girls who competed at the Scottish Open will definitely have an advantage over those who have just arrived from the states.

I think it would be huge for the women's game in Britain if this was won by a Brit, especially a young person like Charley Hull who would already be a nationally recognised sportswoman

At least here in the States we will be getting lots of live coverage.

Last week was delayed tape. However GC did have a live stream, which I did watch. Bonus was that there were no commercials.

It's all about the weather. Lets have at least some decent weather. It looks like rain here and there but not insane.

It seems BBC are only showing the highlights every night which is very disappointing.

A lot of English golfers only a few shots back and fantastically so is Cavanwoman Leona Maguire, hopefully she can keep it up!

Caught some action this morning. If you did not go under par you got a problem. When the weather is there you have to take advantage.

Still only first round, things will shake out. But look for a furious finish on Sunday.

Greens looked perfect.

Barring a world class collapse by IK, it should be a walk in the park tmr. Doesn't seem weather to be a factor.

If Angel Yin does not play her way on to the Solheim team she has to be a pick. Not sure why the announcers including Judy were down on Mo Martin being a pick be cause she hits it so short.

Although someone sent a twitter to NBC, saying that Angel Yin could qualify via Rolex ranking, I'm not sure how she could. Yin would have to jump over Martin, Stanford, Ernst, and either Salas or Lincicome. The latter two made the cut and won't go down much in the rankings. Lincicome (42) and Salas (45) currently hold the two Rolex spots. If one of them displaces Lang (37) in the 8th position on Solheim points, Lang would likely qualify via Rolex. Unless Angel has a total collapse in round 4, I think she would have earned a captain's pick. I would also pick Marina Alex as a captain's pick. She has worked hard and has earned it. Also, since Juli has said she would pick the hottest players, Marina has earned the tenth most Solheim points in 2017. The nine players ahead of her are already assured of a team spot.

They mentioned it on TV. Seemed odd to me too. I pick her as one of my picks.

Someone asked Julie about Creamer on TV. She was like hmm hhmm hmmm and did not answer the question. I think that you can read it either way.
