2010 TV Schedule

I haven't seen anything about the 2010 TV schedule posted here.

Here is a link to the TV coverage by TGC. For those who worried about live coverage I think you will be plesantly suprised by the coverage.

Golf Channel and LPGA Announce 2010 Tournament Broadcast Schedule | Golf Channel

In addition to this I think the following is correct.

US Open - NBC (espn 1-2)
Brit Open - ABC
KNC - CBS (1-2?)

What are our thoughts.

What is TBD... tape broadcast delay.... ? Why not just TD?

Over all it looks good for 2010, better then 2009. Yet for a golf nut, we never get enough. :-)

I think it means 'to be determined'.

They haven't decided on its place in their schedule yet...

Also I do not think that it was mentioned in the Press Release, but they had signed Judy Rankin to be the main broadcaster for the LPGA.

I rarely watch the LPGA or the PGA live anyways (can't sit thru all the commercials), so it doesn't really matter to me, but the schedule that you linked to shows 4 live broadcasts in the next 6 months. Suprised? Yeah. Pleasantly? Not so much.

I had read last month that Dottie wasn't gonna do any LPGA tournaments on the Golf Channel, which is bad news for the LPGA. With ESPN out of the picture, Judy is the natural replacement. I believe the GC is calling her the Lead Analyst so I assume that Brian Hammons will remain as the anchor which is OK, IMO. I like Judy on-course, but don't care for her in the booth for the LPGA. She seems to think it's her job each week to educate all of the first time viewers about who they are watching, with emphasis on players husbands and children instead of their athletic or golf achievements.

I expect Beth Daniel will also be in the booth. I can't remember which tournament, but i remember watching one last year that had both Beth and Judy in the booth. A lot of the time I couldn't tell whether it was Beth or Judy speaking, their voices sounded pretty much the same which is kinda suprising since Beth has been criticized (rightly IMO) a lot but Judy seems to be worshipped by many. IMO, a lot of people think Judy has credibility because they associate her with the network PGA broadcasts which are produced and run so much better than the LPGA.

I think Charlie Rymer works at the the GC now. If they could get him in the booth to replace Beth, or even on course, that would help a lot. With the sparse schedule, though, I doubt if the GC is gonna make much of an effort in their LPGA broadcasts. Probly Val Skinner and Kay Cockerill on course, Beth in the booth, ZZZzzzzzzz.

The problem is not with the broadcasts but the number of events thats scheduled in that time period.

That point that I am getting at is that there was concern with TGC taking over the regular domestic events and if they would be live or tape.

What I am pleasently suprised is that they are showing most of those events live and that they will be showing some of the non domestic events that were not televised in the past.

So yes I think that it is a good broadcast schedule. The real problem is a lack of tournaments.

And no I don't worhsip at the temple of Rankin but she is one of the best. I like dottie too but I think they will have her doing PGA so there won't be time for her to do the LPGA.
