Michelle Wie Relinquishes Korean Citizenship

Don't really know what this means in the grand scheme of things. Maybe some tax thing? I read it on the LET website.

Obviously she was reading last week's thread here in which it was proven that she is in fact not the most popular golfer in Asia.

Always stirring the pot to deflect attention from MW's fans who want to celebrate her under par round today....shame on you.

It's a new year and I'm sure you wanted to be the author of the 1st thread that goes over 250 posts.

Wasn't BJ quoted saying...."the only thing American about MW is her passport?"...maybe this is the 1st action that MW is flying the coop.

I think there's too much pressure coming from South Korea....they want to recruit MW for the Olympics because Korea is unsure if they can assemble a team of competitive golfers for a gold medal....and MW wants to play for the US.

Quite probably as she is no longer a Seoul Sister!

Not that there's anything wrong with a Soul!

Interesting move. It would've been interesting to be a fly on the wall during that discussion!

I assume from the way it's reported she can take up South Korean citizenship at some time in the future if she wants to.
