| Senior Member | Nancy doesn't try to compete all the time she shows up on occasions only. I think it is a good thing. She may take the place of a more qualified younger player so what they will get their chance. Nancy can't just walk around and sign autographs she wants to play and get the charge of playing before a crowd of fans. I think she has earned the right.

You have not broken par on the LPGA Tour since 2001. Let's get real Nancy, you were hitting the ball well and it was just your putting? Please look at this: ![]() Note that your average Driving Distance is only 202.50 yards. You cannot compete on the LPGA with that distance. You cannot compete on the Futures Tour with that distance. You cannot compete on a D3 college team with that distance. Yeah, you hit 17 fairways, but when you're only hitting it 200 yards, it's hard to miss. |

It's supposed to be a competitive sport, not something where old-timers are indulged as they hack their way around in 87 shots. I don't care how great she was,how famous she was or what she meant to women's golf in days of yore. She has no right being out there, now. It's not even about taking someone else's spot in the field,it's more about the integrity of the competition. Granted, you always get a few players,in any event, who shoot ridiculously high scores, but these are players who still have the potential to improve :nor are they in danger of tarnishing their legacy. Nancy Lopez is not going to improve. Her game isn't coming back. Someone who cares about her needs to have a quiet word in her ear... Pax Vobiscum Saint-Just X |

I was a huge Nancy Lopez fan "in the day", but I'm embarrassed for her now and I'm almost questioning her mental state when she claims she's going to come back next year. There's a video of her playing in the pro-am in this tournament and she's using her golf umbrella as a walking stick (cane?) to walk the fairways. She is totally dilusional if she thinks she can make a comeback. Like LoJo said, she can be an "ambassador" in other ways besides playing and making a fool of herself. Nancy keeps saying she is going to make a comeback. Hasn't she had about 6 (I'm exaggerating) 'farewell' tours so the folks that still like to watch her will have one last chance to see her play?

She may have actual psychological problems. |

I hate to second-guess qualifying criteria for LPGA events,as,sometimes,it appears they make it up on the fly,but I'm assuming Nancy Lopez gets in because she's a multiple winner of the event,or a Hall of Famer. So,technically, you're right. But she's taking liberties with the exemption rules. Would you be happy if Kathy Whitworth decided to tee it up,next year ? Pax Vobiscum Saint-Just X |
