Don't forget, just a few weeks ago, Lexi had a good chance to win the Evian Masters.

This guy doesn't seem to be aware that Lexi is limited to taking 6 sponsor's exemptions in a season. ------------------------------- The tourney had three exemptions to use this year (usually it gets only two). One exemption always goes to the winner of the Safeway Amateur Open (University of Tulsa sophomore Kristina Merkle this year). The second spot initially was promised to tour veteran Michelle McGann, a tourney and fan favorite over the years who lives in Florida and has played in only one event this season. When McGann decided not to play, a collective decision was made to invite former USC golfers Jennifer Song and Belen Mozo. That left the Safeway Classic with no way to woo Thompson. Exemptions can be handy tool for organizers By the way, I am not sure Jessica Korda would be thrilled at being called the "son of former tennis star Peter Korda".

I must be bored today. Lexi's brother, Nicholas, needs a very high finish in the Wyndham Championship today to make the playoffs and I was thinking, if Nicholas doesn't make the playoffs, I wonder, will he caddy for Lexi next week in the women's Canadian Open? So, I searched the Internet to see if Nicholas had ever caddied for Lexi and found out, yes he did, once, and here is what Lexi said about that experience. Your 26-year-old brother, Nicholas, is an exceptional player who is in his third full season on the PGA Tour. Have you ever caddied for him or has he ever caddied for you? Thompson: No. He did [caddie for me] once at a U.S. Girls' Junior qualifier. Things didn't go so well. After that day, he will never pick up my bag again. Never! OK, well forget that idea. ![]() 18 Questions With Alexis Thompson

IMHO, the worst thing for Lexi's career right now is to have a brother who is a PGA Tour pro. Everyone is comparing her to him, thinking he is her coach, thinking she will be performing as well as he is. Now, they are expecting him to be her caddy. Sheesh. |

Lexi's father is her caddy and I did not know until I read what Lexi said about Nicholas caddying for her once, that there was a problem with Nicholas as her caddy. Anyway, based on today's first round at the Wyndham, Nicholas isn't going to make the playoffs and will have 5 weeks off before the fall series starts on the PGA TOUR. There is one thing we know for sure that Nicholas won't be doing during that 5 weeks...caddying for Lexi.
