Smile Follow Diana Luna

Let's see, since the LGU, in their infinite wisdom chose to not allow an exemption into final qualifying for Lexi, that we, as fans of golf, should at least follow the golfer for whom the LGU gave a special exemption, aka free ride, into the WBO.

That golfer's name is Diana Luna.

I'll do the grunt work and post her scores as she works her way up the leaderboard.

First round 79, +7

How many pro wins does Diana Luna have?

How many pro wins does Lexi Thompson have?

I know Lexi did really well in her last two events, which were even majors on two of the tours. But still, isn't it a little early to be bashing other players on Lexi's behalf?

This isn't about bashing Diana Luna.

Diana Luna's special exemption is perfectly acceptable.

She was a member of the European team at the 2009 Solheim Cup and has only just returned to the LET after having a baby.

When will you be changing your screen-name to 'Lexinuts' ?...

I am not changing my screen name and this "follow Diana Luna topic" is not about bashing her.

Logo Lady is the target.

Luna also has three career LET wins, including two in 2009. That's three more pro wins than Lexi has. She has also never lost a Solheim Cup match.

She is a fully-formed professional with a legitimate track record and a legitimate medical reason why she couldn't go to qualfying, unlike Lexi who has had a two great finishes and 1 missed cut and is very much a big question mark.

This subject is posted by "someone we know" on TGC whacko DG. (Follow Diana Luna @ WBO) Once again....the Lexi been done wrong shtick is being shot down there.

One of the posters replied with the following...not sure where he got the info, but seems reasonable that it's factual.
Diana Luna was on the 2009 Euro Solheim Cup team.

She filled out an application and payed an entry fee of 85 pounds on May 13, 2010.

A notable player did not file an application and did not pay an entry fee of 85 pounds by the deadline date.

As of the deadline date, June 29, 2010, this notable player had never finished better than 20th in a LPGA event and missed the cut in her professional debut.
Why don't you follow Luna's scoring at the WBO in private, gxer. Then you can stew in private too.

Why do you suppose Logo Lady was very willing to name Wie as the reason exemptions to the WBO were tightened and yet didn't mention Diana Luna as an example of a golfer for whom the new exemption rules apply?

In addition, a direct exemption to the WBO, which is what both Wie and Luna received, is not the same thing as an exemption to final qualifying.
