Wie had a T14 at the Kraft at age 15. Thompson had a T24 a few weeks after turning 15. But Wie only had a T23 at the US Open at 15 while Thompson had a T10 at 15. Most importantly, I think the competitive level on the LPGA Tour has been raised in the five years since Wie was 15. So I pick Wie. I'm sure you disagree and that's fine.
Hi ya Blue...a very good analysis...I can dig this...by the way...look at the red part...I think you got the name "Flip Flopped"

thanks for digging up the info...I was on the lazy side....have a good day in Boston...see ya!!

Wiefan, MW and Alexis are two entirely different players. I'm not sure their finishes in the US Open is especially valid, since you really have to consider the course, which is different every year, as well as the weather conditions they played in and various other factors. Given their accomplishments at 15, believe it or not, I'll give the edge to Wie. Again, though, you have to consider the number of chances she had to play against the top players as opposed to Alexis. Time will tell which one ultimately has the better career.

I think they were both good at 15. But publicitywise, I'm giving the edge to Wie. Financial success at 15...it's still Wie.

As far as Michelle Wie's attraction to Wiefan and Lexi Thompson's attraction to Gxer, by comparison...They're about even!

You might want to rephrase that, DB. You really think Wie's attracted to WF and Thompson to Gxer?

Actually in the first one...I was trying to imply Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson as being "magnets" that attract both Wiefan and Gxer respectively, since the comparison is between Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson when they were 15 years old.

Oops. I meant to say I pick Thompson. Thanks for catching that. But it's close.

Update on Lexi's age exemption plans.
-------------------------------------
“We have no plans at this time to petition the LPGA,” Bobby Kreusler, her agent at Blue Giraffe Sports, told GolfChannel.com Wednesday by telephone from France. “We’ve never had any intention to petition the LPGA, but I can’t tell you what’s going to happen if she goes out and wins a tournament. That’s a hypothetical. Right now, we’re comfortable seeing how the year progresses and Lexi plays.”
---
Kreusler said the present plan next year is for Thompson to play 15 to 17 professional events. She would seek her limit of six LPGA appearances as a non-member, pursue opportunities at the Australian Women's Open and Australian Ladies Masters and seek spots in Ladies European Tour and Japan LPGA events.

Sounds like the agent is back-peddling a little to quell the critics. Dottie Pepper clearly announced during TV coverage of the USWO that she was gong to petition the LPGA for early membership. Pepper is a good reporter. She probably got that info from a reliable source.

The agent is stating a position that may not be shared by Lexi and her father.

Agents are by nature slimy people, and will take for themselves anything they can, because it is in their best interests to be calling the shots. However I am not so sure Scott Thompson will be comfortable with this agent trying to take over and plan Lexi's playing schedule.

We'll see.
