Thanks for write-up, Shampi! Its always good to see the LPGA (and Yani) get more media coverage! I'm very looking forward to seeing the ladies perform this year! |

Actually, I think Buzzer's assessment is right, in that Wie will become a decent journeyman player. It might even benefit her somewhat that Lexi is getting the attention she used to get, since there will be less focus on her every move.

I'm not saying Wie is going to lead women's golf, I just stated that she's going be more focused on golf, which may give her a better chance to show her talent. She hasn't played a full schedule, guys. Before you say something, no, I'm not a Wie fan, I just think some of us (the media) have come to conclusions without looking at the whole picture. |

I agree with Shampi here. Although, I'm not a fan of Wie's...let's not count her out just yet. Just remember... 1. She's *ONLY* 22! Just remember that Annika didn't win her first tournament until she was 24. By comparison, Wie's two tournament wins (she would have won 3 if Yani hadn't had caught her in Thailand) doesn't look too bad. 2. She is among the longest drivers in the LPGA. She was just a tad short of Lincicome (#3 in driving distance) last year. 3. She's out of Stanford. I know we tend to see 'Stanford' more as an excuse than a reason for her lack of success. But who knows? Let's see how well she does this year. Like Shampi says, she hasn't played a full schedule yet. 4. With the emergence of Lexi Thompson, I think the spotlight (and the pressure that comes with it) will fade a bit for Michelle. As MP has stated this may benefit her game and allow her to become a better player. I'm a *BIG* Yani fan. But I do think Wie has got a lot of unlocked potential. If Wie can maintain her focus (seen her miss way too many short gimme putts last year) for all 54/72 holes, then we just might surprise us this year. |

If she had played 22 events like Yani or 21 like Brittany Lincicome would have she have won a tournament? ![]()
In 2010 she played the exact same number of events as Yani and Suzann, more than Jyai Shin who and five more than Paula Creamer who won the US Open? |
