SAMSUNG WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Member Contest

It is my turn to do the scoring. Since there are only 20 players, I was thinking of doing the pairings in twosomes instead of the normal threesomes. Bonus points are the same: -20 for picking the winner, -10 points for 2th to 5th place, -5 points for 6th to 10th and ties. A 1 point penalty for eleventh to last. Since there is not a cut the 10 point penalty is out.
Since Blue is currently away, your suggestions are welcomed.
For any one new who wants to participate the rules are at: http://lpgagolfcontests.blogspot.com...ow%20to%20play

You might think about actually reducing the bonus points for picking the winner, since with such a small field, the odds of picking the right winner are relatively high.

Yes it needs to be 2 somes. Also I think keep the bonus the same. This should make you think about strategy, especially if everyone picks Ochoa or Sorenstam and the points are divided. Do you go with the easy choice or take a chance.

Also make the bonus choice a secret.

Bonus points will be the same as always. If you want to keep your winner selection secret you can PM the name to ELF or you, for strategical purpose, can write you selection with your picks for the two rounds as always.
As I would have an advantage from knowing everyone's Bonus Selection, I will post my selections including my pick for the bonus tonight.
Good luck and enjoy.

Whoa! Let's not go back to this. I'm fine with individual scorekeepers having some flexibility with things like setting up pairings in two-somes rather than three-somes, but we have well-publicized rules, here:

http://lpgagolfcontests.blogspot.com/

Private selection of the bonus pick is not in the rules and changes the strategy a lot, especially if some people are posting their bonus pick privately and some publicly.

There is no need to make a change like that in the case of Samsung.

We might have to play this as an unofficial contest. I'll make a decision later depending on how far away the contest veers from stated rules.
