PakPicker - Sybase Match Play Championship

Another member on SeoulSisters.com already started the contest since the bracket came out this afternoon. This week is a bit different as has already been discussed: You are predicting who will be in the Sweet Sixteen and how they will finish. The Table of Points thus becomes 1-2-3-4-T5-T9; in order they would be the winner and loser of the championship match, the winner and loser of the third place match, the four losers in the quarterfinals and the eight losers in the round of sixteen. Given the format there will be no alternates. Your Sweet Sixteen selections should be submitted no later than 1100GMT/7amEDT/4amPDT Thursday 17 May.

The bracket is now out and can be found here. You should use this to properly project who you believe will make the Sweet Sixteen and how they will finish. If time permits before the deadline the scoring committee will doublecheck all entries and advise of any logic errors (i.e. if you have two players in your selections who could play each other in the first two rounds). If you need a little help in teasing out your bracket then Golfweek has their annual contest out at this link.

This is how we list the Match Play Pakpicker on SS.com forum...you need 16 picks...and how they finish depends on how far they get...I actually work backwards from my winner, final, final four, etc...but you can start by picking the 16 first and the breaking it down. Obviously, the picks have to agree with match-ups.

1. So Yeon Ryu
2. Hee Kyung Seo
3. Grace Park
4. Yani Tseng
5. Cristie Kerr
5. Brittany Lincicome
5. Amy Yang
5. Sophie Gustafson
9. Haeji Kang
9. Hee Young Park
9. Katherine Hull
9. Maria Hjorth
9. Inbee Park
9. Anna Nordqvist
9. Karrie Webb
9. Sandra Gal

I just went through the entries here for logic errors and I found that charlie & Saint-Just X may have misunderstood the selection process. They simply listed the Sweet Sixteen without projecting forward to how far they will go. Benchjockey, on the other hand, has three pairs of players in his sixteen who could potentially meet in the Round of 32 and conversely has picked no one out of either Na Yeon Choi's quarter of the Mickey Wright bracket, Stacy Lewis' quarter of the Annika Sorenstam bracket or Caroline Hedwall's quarter of the Patty Berg bracket. If those errors are corrected by 8:30am EDT we should be able to accept these entries in full, but as it stands now only benchjockey's out of those three can be scored, even with his logic errors. All of the other entries in this week's contest as of this writing are properly projected and formatted.

It's me and that whole 'not reading the instructions properly' thing.

I'm much the same with electrical appliances ;although, obviously, things don't go on fire if one fails to understand the Sweet Sixteen instructions.

Hopefully, the revised pickies are in something approaching the correct format...*blushes*
