The Tour returns to North America this week for the Lorena Ochoa Invitational. Just seventy-two players are in this week's field. From among them you need to select your Top Twelve and three alternates and submit them no later than 1400GMT/9amEST/6amPST Thursday 8 November. Intermediate tallies

A little more timely this week for a change, and as you'll see there is a little added incentive for your scorer this time around.

FIRST ROUND SUMMARY

Of the thirty-six golfers in this week's field twenty-three were mentioned on the scorecards of our fourteen contestants. Just ten were chosen by ten or more and four were unanimous selections: Stacy Lewis, Ai Miyazato, Suzann Pettersen and Yani Tseng.

In the opening round the minimum twelve were in the Table of Points, with just two of those twelve not getting any PakPicker love.

  • PAKPICKER TABLE OF POINTS

Position. Golfer (# of PakPickers who selected her)

    1. Angela Stanford (7)
    -- Michelle Wie (1)
    -- Candie Kung
    4. Stacy Lewis (everyone)
    -- Inbee Park (13)
    -- So Yeon Ryu (12)
    -- Cristie Kerr [8]
    -- Karine Icher (2)
    9. In Kyung Kim (6)
    -- Katherine Hull
    11. Anna Nordqvist (9)
    --- Beatriz Recari

Your scorer is trying very hard to remain humble this week but as you can see that will be easier said than done: I lead the standings with seven scoring selections at this point in the proceedings.

  • PAKPICKER STANDINGS

Position. Contestant Points (# of scoring selections)

    1. IceCat 71.50 (7)
    2. tonyj5 63.50 (6)
    3. rjay 63.25 (6)
    4. ctmurray 56.00 (6)
    5. Centurion 55.75 (6)
    6. Elf 54.50 (5)
    7. Verdant Garden 54.00 (5)
    8. Friar Mike 53.00 (5)
    -- cannuck 53.00 (5)
    10. shungkim 51.00 (5)

    11. ghinhee 48.00 (5)
    12. Snells 47.00 (5)
    13. GCSVA 37.25 (4)
    14. Saint-Just X 31.50 (3)

SECOND ROUND SUMMARY

A rising tide raises all boats this round as Ai and Yani sneak into the Table along with Hee Kyung Seo. Nearly all of Round One's twelve remain so of the fifteen in the Round Two Table just three were unmentioned by any of our PakPickers.

  • PAKPICKER TABLE OF POINTS

Position. Golfer (# of PakPickers who selected her)

    1. Angela Stanford (7)
    2. Inbee Park (13)
    3. Cristie Kerr [8]
    4. Stacy Lewis (14)
    -- So Yeon Ryu (12)
    -- Candie Kung
    7. In Kyung Kim (6)
    -- Karine Icher (2)
    9. Hee Kyung Seo (9)
    -- Katherine Hull
    11. Anna Nordqvist (9)
    12. Ai Miyazato (14)
    --- Yani Tseng (14)
    --- Michelle Wie (1)
    --- Vicky Hurst

Like yours truly ctmurray had a staggering nine scoring selections at the halfway stage, but one of them wasn't named Cristie Kerr so he only sits in fourth. Even Saint-Just X had six scoring selections but he's still dead last, which sadly has been a habit since his blistering start to the season.

  • PAKPICKER STANDINGS

Position. Contestant Points (# of scoring selections)

    1. IceCat 78.75 (9)
    2. tonyj5 74.75 [8]
    3. Friar Mike 72.25 [8]
    4. ctmurray 70.75 (9)
    5. Verdant Garden 70.25 [8]
    6. rjay 68.75 [8]
    7. ghinhee 65.50 [8]
    8. cannuck 65.25 (7)
    9. Snells 63.00 [8]
    10. shungkim 60.75 (7)

    11. Centurion 60.50 (7)
    12. Elf 59.75 (7)
    13. GCSVA 57.75 (7)
    14. Saint-Just X 43.50 (6)

THIRD ROUND SUMMARY

There was a net loss of one player from the Table on Saturday, but with Ai and Yani leaving everyone lost points. One PakPicker had Bam-Bam, so there were three wallflowers among the fourteen in the Table.

  • PAKPICKER TABLE OF POINTS

Position. Golfer (# of PakPickers who selected her)

    1. Inbee Park (13)
    2. Cristie Kerr [8]
    3. So Yeon Ryu (12)
    4. Angela Stanford (7)
    5. Karine Icher (2)
    6. Stacy Lewis (14)
    -- Hee Kyung Seo (7)
    -- Michelle Wie (1)
    -- Candie Kung
    10. In Kyung Kim (6)
    --- Katherine Hull
    12. Anna Nordqvist (9)
    --- Brittany Lincicome (1)
    --- Haeji Kang

I'm starting to get used to the view up here and if anything it's even harder to see any pursuers if the Table remains close to where it is at this point. To be fair both ctmurray and Snells lead along with yours truly with seven scoring selections. Speaking of point Saint-Just X must be wondering if there is one - sorry to keep flogging you, mate, but make better picks and this won't be an issue, OK?

  • PAKPICKER STANDINGS

Position. Contestant Points (# of scoring selections)

    1. IceCat 73.25 (7)
    2. tonyj5 63.50 (6)
    3. Verdant Garden 63.00 (6)
    4. ctmurray 61.00 (7)
    5. rjay 60.75 (6)
    6. Friar Mike 60.00 (6)
    7. Snells 58.50 (7)
    8. cannuck 56.75 (5)
    9. ghinhee 54.75 (6)
    10. Elf 52.75 (5)

    11. shungkim 51.75 (5)
    12. GCSVA 49.75 (5)
    13. Centurion 47.25 (5)
    14. Saint-Just X 38.75 (4)

Will I be able to go wire-to-wire for my first win of the season or will the whole Table get jumbled like Jenga blocks and see another PakPicker rise to the top? I hope to be able to provide you the answer sometime this evening.

Final tally

OPP...OPP...OPP...OPP...
OPPA ICECAT STYLE!!!

(Horse dance optional...oh, heck; let's cut it loose!)

FINAL ROUND SUMMARY

Having now given away the ending let's take a page from the late Paul Harvey and fill you in on The Rest of the Story.

The Table settled on fourteen players with the same three wallflowers from Saturday: Candie Kung, Katherine Hull and Haeji Kang. Their significant others would probably not agree with the use of the term wallflower but it is used here to signify those players not mentioned on the scorecards of any of our contestants. Just one contestant apiece mentioned either Brittany Lincicome or Michelle Wie, but their absence from the final Table of Points is more than made up for with the appearance of Suzann Pettersen.

  • PAKPICKER TABLE OF POINTS

Position. Golfer (# of PakPickers who selected her)

    1. Cristie Kerr [8]
    2. Inbee Park (13)

    6. So Yeon Ryu (12)
    -- Haeji Kang
    8. Hee Kyung Seo (7)
    -- Katherine Hull
    10. Anna Nordqvist (9)
    11. Karine Icher (2)
    12. Suzann Pettersen (14)
    --- In Kyung Kim (6)

Despite being one of four PakPickers to lose points from Saturday my margin of victory was 5.75 points. A quick nod to tonyj5, who had been 2nd the entire weekend but shares that honor in the final standings with Verdant Garden, who hadn't been lower than 5th this week. Ctmurray was the only contestant besides myself to lead with eight scoring selections but again they didn't include Cristie Kerr, who won on the golf course this week, so he finishes fifth behind Friar Mike. Down at the other end of the standings Saint-Just X only half-sucks this week because he has company down in the basement in the form of Centurion: each had only five scoring selections to share this week's wooden spoon...OK, OK, you'll each get one because I'm being especially generous today. You'll need them, too, to cut through all the cobwebs down there.

It's been a season of two distinct halves.

The second one has distinctly sucked.

But,in the stentorian voice of losers around the globe, you just wait until next year...

I'm the Yani Tseng of the 2012 PakPicker contest.

Next year,I must also remember not to start gloating if I get off to a hot start.

That really came back to bite me in the nether regions...
