2017 US OPEN Contest

US Open Contest, Jul 13-16, 4 rounds, Full Field, Cut top 60, 3 hole playoff if needed.

US Open Rules so read carefully.

My own special mix this week.

Select 2 from Group A plus 2 Alternates
Select 2 from Group B plus 2 Alternates
Select 2 from Group C plus 2 Alternates

Select 5 optional winner bonus players (No penalty) (Multiple points may apply)

After the cut your alternates will automatically apply in order.
After the cut and before the 3rd round you may replace a player that made the cut with one of your alternates.

Basically you can go to the bench.

I am boycotting this event and continuing my mostly season-long boycott of the LPGA and USGA.

This is my response to the decision of the USGA and LPGA to schedule this tournament at a golf course owned by Donald Trump, the president of the United States, who repeatedly has made racist, sexist, and xenophobic remarks and who has continued to engage in conflict of interest with his roles as an elected official -- indeed as the highest elected official in the land -- and a principal in a large international hospitality business.

I understand that not everyone will agree with my choice. They may say that politics should be separate from sports, or that one person's action won't change anything, or that a boycott only hurts the players.

To this, I respond: 1)The actions of the president of the United States go beyond simple "politics." They involve statements and policies that effect every citizen and potentially every human on the planet. 2) One person's actions have more effect than no action at all and my own actions are all I have control over. 3) The LPGA is a owned by its players. Players could have stood up against holding tournament at Trump-owned courses two years ago when Trump announced his candidacy by disparaging Mexican immigrants, or later when he continued to insult women, mock the disabled, and sling personal attacks the level of which would send most six-year olds to time out. Players chose not to do this. The players are in the business of creating entertainment. That's their only job. I am the audience for this entertainment; I am their customer. I choose to show my disagreement with their business decision by, for this season between the Kraft Nabisco tournament and Solheim Cup, not watching the LPGA on television, not going to tournaments as I typically do every year, not volunteering at the US Women's Open, as I have done many times in the past, and not engaging in contests or other adjunct activities, like this contest.

I respect other fans' rights to make the choice that's right for them. This is my choice.

Do what you gotta do. No Complaints to you. I know you love going to tournaments.

I won't let Trump ruin my happiness. And my happiness is The US Open and watching Women's Golf.

I will be their.

We've been doing this for the US Open for a while.

It spices it up and gets you involved.

I don't want to do this every week because it can be difficult for some especially in different time zones, to have the time Friday night to make the switches.

We used to have 20 people playing a week, but the tour has dwindled down to a select few.

I thought the 5 winner pick would be interesting. A last min thought.

Problem is now I have to to the scoring after every round. Plus a bit of a hike for me to get there.

Oh and there will be a prize. (most likely a US Open Hat)

I most likely can not get to the practice round Wed, but I will try to get some autographs on the hat.

Have a great time. I'm really missing following the LPGA this year. I don't even know who has won any tournaments since Kraft. Is Trump ruining my happiness? No. But I have to take a stand somehow.
