Julieta Granada

Its a pity with all the Wie and Annika mania out there that this kid from Paraguay who finished 2nd last week and is 14th ,I think, in the money order this year gets completely overlooked ..... she´s my long shot for the Open and I wont be surprised is she has a win this year .....

Thumbs up Right on Shortcake

She is amazing. Amazing in that she is or looks so tiny. The LPGA stats say she is 5'2", but I wonder. Her face makes her look like she could be 13.

The stats say that Brittany Lincome is 5'10" but before that was published I understood she was about 6' (I am (was) 5'10" and I have a photo of her standing next to me and she is taller than me). At any rate, I have seen Britt and Julieta play in the same group as juniors and it was almost a Mutt & Jeff comedy.

If I recall, in 2005 Julieta and Morgan Pressel were just about even in the Sagarin ratings. I'm pretty sure Julietta bested Morgan in a couple of important events. (Anyone want to check into this, I'm not going to)

Since turning pro, Julieta keeps getting better and better and better. Her closing Sunday was amazing too. At the end, I was rooting for the Ladybug. She really can't get any better without winning. There is a great promo piece out featuring her too, a' la Tiger Woods.

Lastly, her mother is her caddy and what I have seen is they are both so good natured.

A very nice finish at Wegman's. I hope it can carry through to bigger and better things.

What blows me away mostly about her success is where she comes from ...... I would bet that there are not 10 golf courses in that country and even though she is a Lebetter school prodigy ,me coming from Ireland where we have more golf courses than pubs (that´s a lot!) and cannot produce one world class player, I am awe struck by her achievement.

If memory serves me correctly, Carlos Franco of the PGA Tour is from Paraguay. He and his brothers are all pretty good players, from the reports I've read. Ehile far from a golf hotbed, there are some accomplished golfers in Paraguay.

SURPRISE!...She won this year at the ADT Championship,Took home 1 million dollars, and didn't make 1 bad shot the entire round. An excellant job by her caddy(who happens to be her mom),and an excellant job by her also, because she took her first win(and what a big one is was) in a tournament that had some pretty darn good competition.A great win for her,and I hope she continues with the winning ways.

DetroitDan, welcome to the forum. Lots of great golf fans on this site. Except for being from Micjigan, you seem like a pretty good egg.
