US Open Report

US 3rd Round Open Report.

After 2 /12 hour train ride felt like i wanted to go home. But that was mainly the F#$*(&#^ medication that I have to take.

Didn't rally remember the course from 2004. Different perspective live then on TV. For some reason thought it was flat, but I guess that's why they do have "HILLS" in their name. Basically the course has a top level and a bottom level. Very dry.

OK they lost that course. Fairways were wide, indeed. Problem is that they need to push there drives to the max. These greens were impossible. They got it right on TV. They are upside down pots. The landing areas are tiny. Sat at 17 early and the pin position was terrible. Best chance was to be short of the green.

Watch the early golf. Did see Berger and Finua play. Had a 2 1/2 hour train ride back.

Gonna skip the meds today and drive.

Driving so much better. Left early and got there in no time. Wanted to leave early and catch the end on TV.

Was hot but a good day. Bounced around a little. Some good early scores, so they got the course back. Watched as they prepared 18. They were watering 17 and 18 as late as 11 AM.

My walking time is limited. Lasted until my back gave out. But a good 2 1/2 hours I got to see some good golf. Couldn't hang around for the leaders.

Most of the excitement was on the way home. I don't know the whole story but before I got on the bus back to parking, there some sort of incedent on the bus with some kids,a lady and a possible theft. That's what the women sitting in front of me told me.The bus was delayed a bit and should have been my clue to get off. When we get up by the parking lot the bus is stopped by the police. 4 cop cars, State Trooper, they hold us on the bus for 20-30 mins. Lots of discussion between a whole bunch of people then the let us go. What a waste. I think that they wanted to impound the bus.

Anyway, normally I go 18 with the leaders, but health reasons (Don't worry I'm Ok) have zapped my strength. So not much of a report. However, a lot of an event like this is the atmosphere.

To tell you the truth, I wish I went to the LPGA in Atlantic City Last week. To me that would have been more fun.
