| Tiger Woods Hit Rock Bottom Tiger Woods' golf game finally hits rock bottom By Shane Bacon ![]() Well, that was ugly. Ugly, ugly, ugly. It's the only way to truly describe the first round of the Bridgestone Invitational in the eyes of Tiger Woods. We've seen him struggle this year with his golf game, from missed putts at big moments at the Masters to putter changes at St. Andrews, but nothing like this. Put it this way: You can go on some dates here or there, but you always know the girl you have your eyes set on. That is Firestone for Tiger. This is his baby. This is the golf course that has yielded seven of his 71 PGA Tour wins. This is the venue that was made for Tiger Woods. Tight fairways that force you to drive the ball well off the tee, and shape your shots into the tough greens, Firestone Country Club is where Tiger licks his chops. He looked like a person who would rather be anywhere else in the world than on a golf course. Woods usually gets angry with himself when he plays poorly, but at times, yesterday,it looked liked he had simply given up. He had another over par round, today. I think his head's gone... New coach, new caddie, no wearing red on Sunday. He might not truly need a coach, but it would be someone offering positive comments who is in his corner. Maybe the time has come to part ways with Williams, however well they have worked together in the past. Get out of wearing whichever color on a certain day, being superstitious isn't working. Whilst he was an arrogant piece of work before, he was what he was. Now I think he's trying so hard to be something he hasn't ever been - no swearing, no anger, sweetness and light - that it's taken away from his game because it's diverting his mind from his golf. Plus everything off the course, and always waiting for some loudmouthed comment from the crowd it has to have got to him. |

I agree, but I do think he'll be back before long. Once all the off- course garbage is behind him, he'll get his head back into the game.
