That's an interesting point.

Perhaps there are a greater variety of courses that the European Tour is played on which demand a different approach to shot-making ? I wouldn't get into a pissing contest about who has the better golfers, but I wonder is there a correlation between this and the number of Europeans moving towards the higher echelons of the world rankings ?

I think it's a gradual, ongoing process.Much of Europe had no interest in golf until recently, and even in the UK it's had to overcome the negative image of being a game exclusively for 'posh' people in funny clothing.

The LET is taking the women's game to places where golf wasn't even a blip on the radar : Russia,Czech Republic,Slovakia. It's reaching out which, hopefully, will be good for the long-term future.

Unfortunately,it still doesn't have live tv coverage of the events, nor highlights of most of them, which is a huge impediment to its growth potential...

Clearly there are differences in the courses they play on the two tours. There are virtually no links courses in the USA, and I mean real links courses as in the UK.

Stangely I think I saw more LET golf in Australia than I have anywhere else! They often had, very belatedly, some of the LET tournaments, though not often at a time I was able to watch.

You make some good points to think on. And it kinda looks like they have some out-of-box realistic thinkers, behind the scenes of the LET organization. They are pushing the right buttons, and their views have no borders, I like what they are doing. :-)

I especially like this event they have at the end of the year, in the rich hot desert. As for TV coverage and such... it should come as sponsors begin to see their is a fan interest here. In a sense, LET could play both ends of the golf field, being so in the middle of both. Best of both worlds, or something like that. :-)

Anyways, thank you for your over-seas golf views, and those also from way down-under. Though I may not always agree with you, 'over there', I always appreciate your thoughts and views, for they really do make me a better golf fan. Again, thanks for your inputs, and a Very Merry Christmas to you all....eh.

We had live coverage of it in 2008,but that was because it was Annika's farewell to golf. This year,no Annika,no live coverage, even with you-know-who and her BFF playing.

It's an interesting tournament, not strictly a kind of tour championship for the LET,so the potential for more global talent is there.

The course,if you squint your eyes, could be Scottsdale, and that great architecture makes a fine backdrop.According to the commentators, the greens were running at 12 on the stimpmeter,so it's a decent test, albeit fairly generous off the tee ;and I'm sure they lay out the red carpet for the players in terms of hospitality.

I know December isn't a month for golf to be grabbing the attention, but that tournament has potential.

And a happy Christmas to you and yours in the frozen north,too...
