Watched Friday afternoon, special bonus that they went so late.

Watched Sat Morning then went out and played 9. SLightly different conditions then Scotland. 93Deg + high Humidity. Walked and carried bag.

Watched Early Sunday Morning then , went out again and played nine, Hot and humid again. Watched the replay when I got back.

He was in perfect control all the way. Yeah it wasn't a tense finish, but as a golfer it was great to see him just take control of the course and tournament.

I watched four days of the Open, minus snack-time and potty breaks, but, unlike the Saint, we had more than our fair share of the old commercial break. ESPN showed more regard for the American bladder than your T&V people did, Saint.

I thought Louis OO played like a true champ. I was happy to see him win. He has a nice looking family....proud as hell, too. Don't know what the future holds for him, but i'd like to see him come over here and play some.

Can't bring myself to throw any support to Daly. He let booze and wild women, and who knows what else, ruin what might have been a sterling career. And now he goes around whining that he needs invites after playing himself into the top 300 golf ranking. He gets no sympathy from me.

Gotta go to bed now....it ain't easy turning 77 all in one day......and this was the day. Tata, kids.

I know Martin Kaymer complained at having had to play through the wind before they stopped, saying if the earlier groups had to play then the later ones should as well. As it turned out those playing early in the rain had the best of the day.

Oosthuizen played so well all four days and thoroughly deserved his win. Very low key about it all. I liked how he took time to focus, especially on the first tee. I didn't see it as time wasting, but not getting ahead of himself.

The course looked in brilliant condition, those fairways looked better than most greens! Almost impossible on some holes to tell where fairway ended and green started.

Aside from the insult to the flag and them being inappropriate, I don't think Daly's pants were any worse than when Poulter wore Union Jack pants - except the size of them, Poulter's looked better.
Lately I have noticed that which draw you get on Thursday and Friday is very critical to the winners. If you get a bad draw (bad weather or high wind) you are essentially out of the tournament. I think this has probably happened in the past and forever, but I just started noticing.

I enjoyed the Open. I was glad that he played solidly and no gagging was involved. I mentioned in the posts about Paula Creamer winning the Women's US Open, I like to see the leader play well. If someone beats them it is due to that person's excellent play.
