John Daly Done With Golf

First of all he isn't irrelevant, second of all he won on the korean tour in 2006 and i also believe he had a couple of top ten's on the PGA Tour in 2006 as well, which would make it 3 1/2 to 4 years, not five like you say. Now i could be wrong on that so don't quote me on that, but even if i'm wrong, he still has a huge fan base and outside of tiger and phil is the biggest draw on tour, whether or not any of us like it. His personal life is sad, in part because a lot of the stuff he has dealt with was brought on by himself, but i dare say look in the mirror and not find fault within you. We all have faults, some more than others i.e. JD, but that doesn't give anyone the right to call another human being, especially someone we don't know irrelevant. I would never call you or anyone else that, you shouldn't either. Calling someone that is basically saying they are worthless, and outside of murders and child abusers, no one is worthless. Sure he has made monumental mistakes, many of which i have roundly criticized him for. But that doesn't warrant calling someone that, i don't know that just doesn't sit well with me. Calling anyone that just isn't right.

Just because I say he is irrelevant in golf,doesn't mean I'm suggesting he's irrelevant as a human being.

Whether he is,or isn't,is not the issue.The issue is his golf game ;and that,however popular he is with the galleries,is irrelevant.

He's,what,43,44 ? He's never looked after his body,his lifestyle is not conducive to athletic prowess,so the idea that he could take six months off and return a better player is based on nothing other than fan sentiment.

The likes of Todd Hamilton or Michael Campbell have a greater chance of a golfing rebirth than Daly.

And you wouldn't put money on that happening,either.

The idea of Daly becoming relevant again in golf has about the same mileage as Sammy Sosa coming back and winning an MVP award.

It's nothing personal,it's just what it is...

I certainly agree with most of you. Daly is a mental and physical slob who only detracts from the game. His drinking binges, run-ins with the law and women have shamed the tour. I for one hope he stays away from golf forever.

There is no doubt that Tiger is one of the best golfers ever. However, his extramaritial affairs are disgraceful. I have no idea what caused him to have to leave home for sex, but I do know that I feel very sorry for his children who will have to live with the stories of their father's escapades forever.
