Tiger may once have been a BROAD golf thinker.... but you can bet your money he is a narrow minded putting fool right now. ;-)
Hey Bro...it looks like I'm going to eat my words! Tiger has two eagles in one day...and it never happened before!

Ummm.... so far so good.... day 2 and he just birdied again at the 13th hole, and is now -5. Leader at present is -8.

Note - 3 vid choices here + scoreboard. One of the 3 choices is featured group, (covers play from 9th to 18th holes, then starts again with second group 9th to 18th holes... this is very nice to watch. Today was T Woods & KJ Choi & ?, second group now on 10th is E Els & A Kim & R Ishkawa.

Note - may need SilverLight installed from MicroSoft to view.

Nielsen: Overnight Masters ratings up 50 percent
.
Fri Apr 9, 2:43 pm ET
NEW YORK – First indications are that Tiger Woods' return has increased television viewership of the Masters by 50 percent.

The Nielsen Co. said that ESPN's coverage of the Masters' first round on Thursday had a 3.6 rating in an overnight measurement of the nation's biggest markets. That's 50 percent more than the similar measurement for last year's opening day, and 80 percent more than it was in 2008.

The company is expected to release viewership estimates accounting for all of the country later on Friday.

ESPN covered Woods' first tee shot live within "SportsCenter" more than two hours before regular coverage started on Thursday. Nielsen said its audience was double what it gets on a typical Thursday afternoon. But the .8 rating was much smaller than it got later in the afternoon.

It looks like I predicted Tiger's return correctly. He made the cut, he's contending, and his promise to reign in his emotional extemes was impossible to live up to.

I've been impressed with the "new" Tiger so far. Having watched most all the coverage, I saw only one emotional "extreme" when he had an outburst on the 6th hole with a poor shot followed by x&%#^%% and goddammit.

Other than that....he's been pretty 'bland' and certainly more congenial with the galleries and his fellow competitors. And....no spitting to this point!

I find myself watching the galleries to see those people who refuse, stoically,to applaud him.

He'll have difficulty maintaining that 'nice guy' charade.I don't know why he even feels the need to try, though. He could wipe out an entire village of small children, and the majority of the fans and media would still be hanging off his johnson.

Go Lee...

Hey Saint...if it means cutting off you johnson if you don't comply, who would you rather go to lunch with? Tiger Woods or Michelle Wie?

Just curious...

Man I really like this Internet multi-camera-viewing, with live scoreboard. And not just for the 3 main views, but also for the scoreboard re-video-views on each players score card.

Example, none of the three major live cameras are on Tiger just yet... as he has only played two holes. But they did make a highlight of Tigers bogie on hole 1, and you can go back and view what he did.... whilst the rest of the event goes on.

You can do this on every one of the players scorecards, (if they made a highlight of it), and see more action then watching TV, or being at the event.

This is great. They must have active cameras on every hole.... whatever.... this is the way I would prefer to watch any golf event in the future, commercials or no commercials.

Now if I just had me a 50 inch HD Internet incorporated 3D TV.... I, (a dedicated TV golf watcher), would be in Golf Heaven..... YES SIR!

Note - not many posts left for me to make, today is last day and I well be gone for maybe a month, (depends on my business). Wow what a roar of clapping .... they must love me.... or really really hate me very very much.

Anyhows, take care all.... and root root root for your favs.... I am off to search for my fabulous diamond mine.

I noticed the more congenial part. I think it unreasonable for him to think he could show less high or low emotion on the course. Who can possibly do that?
