have a good day in Boston....see ya!!...go Celtics go!!
I know you have to root for your island girls, but what has Stephanie Kono done on the national level?

Celtics up by 2 at the end of the first quarter ...

Other than McGill, you had five future Solheim Cup players.

The deepest ever team was the U.S. team from 2004:

Erica Blasberg, Paula Creamer, Sarah Huarte, Liz Janangelo, Brittany Lang, Jane Park, Annie Thurman, Michelle Wie

Six out of eight became LPGA exempt players.
Interesting looking back at past teams.

That 2004 team had some potential. It was never realised in all cases :Erica, tragically ;Jane Park and Liz Janangelo look destined to be tour journeymen ;Annie Thurman's career never went anywhere.

Creamer,Lang and that other girl have fared better.

In saying that,I would still take the 2010 team (yours) to finish with more career wins than the 2004 team. The '04 team has a 9-0 lead at the moment.

We'll have to dig this thread up in 25 years' time and see if my prediction was true.

Of course, six years from now, it might just be the Maguire twins and my favourite Asians winning everything in sight.

An interesting footnote (well,to me,anyway) about the 2008 Curtis Cup.Again, you had some talent on that team : Am-Blum,Mina Harigae, the criminally-overlooked,and magnificent,Stacy Lewis. Our team had the mellifluously named, eighteen year old,Florentyna Parker.

Two weeks' ago,she had her maiden victory on the LET,in Holland.

She's hoping to become a dual Curtis/Solheim player...

It really is impossible to judge the quality of the 2010 team isn't it since it's all potential. Jennifer Song had the best amateur career. Alexis Thompson was the best at a young age. Jennifer Johnson seems to be the most focused and dedicated. Kim Kim probably has the most natural talent but lacks a lot of other things necessary to succeed. And that's just the Americans. Who turns out to have a good pro career is anyone's guess.

IMO, the best golfer on either Curtis Cup team, regardless of age, was Alexis Thompson. I am surprised that you don't think so, but then you have a burr in your saddle over Alexis turning pro and I don't.

Yes,but it's fun to speculate.

And it's not like anyone is going to call me out in 25 years and remind me that Brittany Lang had more trips to the winner's enclosure than Jessica Korda.

I think Thompson's like the Stephen Strasburg of women's golf.

Unless she has a complete mental breakdown, which is always the danger with very young athletes,I think she's a safe bet to develop into a quality tour player...

So since we're arguing ... Sephen Strasburg already proved himself in the big leagues, in his first outing. Alexis Thompson is hyped like Strasburg was, but she has yet to prove herself in the big leagues. What's her best finish in an LPGA tournament? T25 maybe? Like all child prodigies, she could prove to be a star, a bust or somewhere in between.

For her sake, I hope she does well, because she just put a whole lot of eggs in one basket and bet a lot of her future on golf at a very young age.

I would worry if Alexis leaves Jim McLean for David Leadbetter but as long as she stays with Jim McLean, IMO, she'll be fine.

Alexis Thompson Will Turn Pro After The Curtis Cup

I know Mr. McLean is an excellent teacher, but he might want to check this statement on his website about Alexis Thompson:

Youngest Player to Ever Compete in the Curtis Cup

Ok,I'll meet you halfway ;she's the Bryce Harper of women's golf.

I don't think she should have turned pro, yet;nor do I believe that fifteen year-olds should be competing on the LPGA tour. But,let's face it,those eggs were in that basket a long time before she announced her intentions to turn professional...

Probably when she qualified for the US Open at age 12 ...
