| Chie Arimura DOB: 11-22-87 Height: 5' 3" 2009 was by far her best year on tour. In 2008, she won her first tournament. In 2009, she won 5 tournaments, to finish third on the JLPGA Money List. In her previous three years, she had never cracked the Top 10 on the year end list. Also was third in 2009 in scoring average (70.7463), just over 2 strokes better than her previous best year. Here is a video profile of her...yes, in Japanese, but still shows many of her highlights from on the course...one of the rising superstars of the JLPGA Tour...

Decided to answer this in the Chie thread since I'd be posting a lot of pictures not related to Masters GC. Chie is currently fifth on the JLPGA money list, with just under 61 million yen, 3rd on the scoring list at 71.315 and won the Studio Alice Women's Open in April. She has missed only two cuts, at Yokohama Tire PRGR Ladies Cup and at the first Major of the year, the Salonpas Cup. Incidentally, the Salonpas Cup was won this year by Morgan Pressel. So Morgan won her second Major this year...yes, yes, I know...that's not how we count them... The other two Majors were won by Saiki Fujita (Konica Minolta Cup) and the streaking Mika Miyazato (Japan Women's Open). The last Major is coming up November 27th at the JLPGA Tour Championship...geez...November in Japan...are they going to be wearing parkas while they're playing? Here are some Chie pictures...I won't bother thumbnailing these, as this is a niche thread for Chie on this board... From her Studio Alice win... Final Round (won in a playoff) ![]() ![]() ![]() Second Round ![]() ![]() First Round with Ai-chan ![]() Chie is coming into Masters GC with three straight top 10s including... T4 Japan Women's Open (Major) ![]() T7 Sankyo Ladies Open ![]() and T3 Fujitsu Ladies ![]() ![]()

more pics here: Chie Arimura Throwing Out First Pitch At Tokyo Giants Baseball Game Fairways and Forehands ![]() 9-time LPGA of Japan Tour winner Chie Arimura threw out a first at a Tokyo Giants (Yomiuri Giants) vs Hanshin Tigers baseball game. The JLPGA star said she was very nervous and apologized for not reaching the plate. My guess is she looked so kawaii that none of her fans care if she reached the plate or not!
