AIB Ladies Irish Open

Is this weeks LET AIB Ladies Irish Open on TV or on the computer. I think it is the site of the Solheim and a lot of LPGA players are there. I would like to see it.

Dont' know, but looking at the final field it does not appear that too many LPGA players are there. Some of the usual Euros that play both tours, Davies, Gustafson etc.

Just a handfull of Americans lead by Cristina Kim, Brit Lang, Brit Lincicome and Angela Stanford.

Only 3 Koreans, Including I K Kim.

But you are correct, it is the site of the 2011 Solheim Cup.

Oooops...substitute Fri/Sat for Thu/Fri. It's only a 54 hole event. Sorry about that.

With the break in the LPGA schedule,I'm surprised a few more of the Americans didn't play in this event.

When it comes to her Captain's picks,Rosie Jones might be inclined to look more favourably on a fringe prospect who made the effort to tee it up here.

Particularly if they play well...

What must you be thinking, they are tired and need to recoup.

With the talent available to her, I seriously doubt any "fringe" players will be picked. She's going to want to retain the Cup. She
ll pick the bestplayers available.

I could be a matter of how do you get into the field as a non LET member, since it is a LET event. I don't think that as an LPGA player you can just say I want to play there and your in. A lot of the euro players from the LPGA listed are dual members that normally play both tours. Also it would explain the lack of Asian players.

By 'fringe' I'm referring to those players outside of the automatic spots.

There are probably six or seven locks for the team, then another ten,or so,in contention for the remaining automatic spots and Rosie Jones' picks ;players like Lewis,McPherson,Gulbis,Kim,Blumenherst,Vicky and Pat Hurst,Francella,Prammanasudh, etc.

If there was little to choose between them,a good performance,in an event at the host course, could be a decision-swinger.

Hence,my surprise that more of them didn't participate...
