2010 US Curtis Cup Team Announced

The US Curtis Cup Team has been announced:

Jennifer Song
Alexis Thompson
Stephanie Kono
Tiffany Lua
Cydney Clanton
Jennifer Johnson
Jessica Korda

There is controversy because Candace Schepperle was left off.

It also sounds like Alexis Thompson is planning to turn pro after the matches.

The young, very young,Irish twins,Leona and Lisa Maguire could be playing in that.

(And they are identical twins, too, unlike the Miyazatos.)

I think Leona is going to be a huge star of the future.

Or,do I mean Lisa ?...

My bad. I was talking about Thompson.

Don't know anything about Schepperle.

I believe Alexis Thompson is still younger than the young, young, very young Maguire twins. I agree it's a huge mistake to turn pro when she's not even 15 1/2.

It does seem awfully young to turn pro, but it looks like it may be a trend.

The real question is as follows. Is the LPGA in that dire need of promotion or buzz that they would be willing to grant her the age exemption?

Or do they maintain some dignity and tell her to at least wait to graduate from high school and if you qualify by legit methods before you are 18 then maybe grant her status.

It will be a test of the new administration. So far they have been doing good things. It is a good rule and they should stick with it.

"Politics" plays a big part in who is selected to the Curtis Cup teams.

It's a snub to leave Schepperle off the team, but she's rubbed someone with "say so" the wrong way I guess.

As far as Thompson turning pro now.....I hate that. Too young. Additionally, she's home schooled, so even less chance for social interaction with kids her own age.

Maybe the family needs the $$.

I hope that Whan maintains the LPGA age Rule.

How about that 16 year-old Italiaan boy that made the cut at the Masters. He said he'll turn pro in May of this year. Is there an age requirement in the PGA?

His name is Matteo Manassero.
