The 2010 ANZ Ladies Masters

The ANZ Ladies Masters,Queensland, Australia.

Looks like a top notch field with golfers from the LET, JLPGA, KLPGA, and the LPGA.

This will be Jeong Jang's first start of 2010.

I love Katherine Hull but....I gotta go with JJ!

GO GET EM JJ!

Here's live scoring:

ALPG - Live Scores

Suzann Pettersen withdrew at the last minute with a recurring hip injury.

Thanks for the live scoring link Blue.

Too bad about Suzann Pettersen.... hope that hip gets better quick.

Couple of players have no "flag". One is Yani Tseng. Another is Sandra Gal. I see no pattern. Curiosity.

None of the players in the field from Germany, South Africa, Ireland or Switzerland have their flag next to the name in the live scoring link. That is a mystery, although it is understandable why there isn't one next to Yani Tseng's name as there is a question as to whether there should be a flag there at all and if so which flag to use - the Republic of China (Taiwan)'s or the one they're forced to use in the Olympics as Chinese Taipei. No sense in upsetting Beijing needlessly, even though there are no mainland Chinese golfers in this event.

Alison Walshe was born in Ireland but moved to the U.S. when she was five and is an American citizen. Perhaps they couldn't decide. Seriously, I poked around in the source code for the site and it looks to me like didn't load up graphic files for those missing countries. Maybe they'll remedy the situation before the end of the tournament.

There's a really good field in that tournament.

It's good to see it being so well supported.

I noticed Azahara Munoz is listed as Azahara Munoz-Guijarro ;I assume 'Guijarro' is her mother's name.

I wonder is she going to be known as that from now on,or whether that's the ALPG scorers adding their own flourish ?...

That was my thought when I saw no flag for Yani. But then the others seemed to have no pattern. Maybe they could not find good flag icons to "lift" off the internet for those countries?

Some of them don't want their flag next to their names. Just like the Saint...he has his country's flag but no hometown flag!
Just teasin' , Saint.

A lot of players in LET instead of placing their home country on the application blank for each tournament, they place their sponsor Golf Club. That is why there is no flag before the names. It is quite common in European events and I understand this event is part of it all do very far away.
