| No one on this discussion board wrote this article. The director of communication for the Futures Tour did. It does not appear to be going away soon, so you might as well deal with the bad news. |

btw, I don't think the "director of comm..." posted the article here, unless there's something you're not telling us. |

That article nails it. Seems like anytime you point anything out to a wie-fan, they just want to ignore it, blast the writer or poster, or they start pointing at somebody else to try to draw the attention away. Just can't face the truth, just like wie.

As I've told other Wie fans who have pleaded the "go away" and "we're bored" argument when confronted with negative news about their hero, if you don't like it, why are you participating? No one is forcing you to engage in this discussion. Unlike, say, Paddyman, I did not title this dicussion, "hey you Wie fans!" like he called one of his recent threads "hey bashers!" (or something like that). It's just an interesting article. At least the Futures Tour thought so. And so do I. Don't like it? Don't respond. Go criticize some of those who can't finish the back 9 in another thread. Hey, come to think of it, Wie never even gets as far as playing the back 9. She usually quits before then. There's a topic for you, if you're bored. Discuss. |

Oh nonsense. I give up, you guys want to go on and on and on and on about the same subject I guess there's nothing I can do about it. Trust me though, it's BORING.

Wow, really, the Futures Tour spokesperson blasting Wie is boring? Especially since she admitted that Wie withdrew from the Ginn to avoid tha 88 rule, despite what the LPGA has so far said. That is far from boring, when you keep in mind the business relationship between the LPGA and Futures Tour. It's pretty much an admission from the LPGA that Wie withdrew because of the 88 rule. The LPGA is distancing itself further and further from Michelle Wie with each passing week. |

Miss Mouse might be looking for a job by dipping her toe in the LPGA well. You know Carolyn is not happy with this type of release. If blogging was a sport we could call piling as a penalty. |

I'm pretty sure the LPGA gives its tacit approval to everything the Futures Tour puts out. They've been running most of Mickey's stories on their home page this season as part of their story rotation. It's possible this is an exception. That remains to be seen. As for Wie "being as good as everyone says" ... just who is "everyone" and how good are they saying? I mean in 2007, not 2004. And I mean "everyone," not just you, wienuts, paddyman, and the last remaining true believers. Oh, and by the way, Lisa Mickey has a long career in golf journalism, including working for the LPGA. Here's her bio on the LPGA site, where she also writes: "Lisa D. Mickey is a former senior editor at the Golf Digest Company, where she covered the LPGA Tour for Golf World and Golf For Women magazines. She is a co-author of “Champions of Women's Golf: Celebrating 50 Years of LPGA Golf” (2000) and was a contributing writer of The Solheim Cup coffee-table edition book (2005). She currently writes the web stories for and serves as director of communications for the Duramed FUTURES Tour." Last edited by Blue; 07-15-2007 at 10:15 PM. |

I believe if we all quit bashing Wie, sooner or later the Wiemaniacs will be bored to death talking among themselves.

I wholeheartedly agree. And as soon as I ever start bashing Wie, I will immediately stop. So far I have yet to bash Michelle Wie or any player on this discussion board. Comment in a less than glowing manner? Yes. Criticize her over the top and unrealistic fans? You betcha. Bash? Not by any definition of bash I know. (And obviously our little Paddyman will counter this with a copy of some old post of mine accompanied by a definition of "bash" from some online dictionary. Maybe he'll even use bold! Save your time, Paddyboy. Just as with, you know, Paula Creamer, this line of argument is neither necessary nor at all effective.) Last edited by Blue; 07-15-2007 at 11:30 PM. |
