Day 2 - Ummm.... maybe I am a jinx for Hannah Yun, who drops like a stone with a 78 today and presumingly out the battle tied into 39 th spot.

At the top sharing number one position is Angela Oh (shooting a great 65), with Jane Reh.

Tiffany Joh improved her game today with a 71 and is presently in a 23ed place tie.

There were a number of ladies on the move this day.... one of them, (another LPGA 2010 Rookie), was Dewi Claire Schreefel who greatly improved her game of a 75 yesterday to a nice round 66, which puts her into a 7th place. Dewi is only a Priority Status of 17 on the LPGA Rookie ranking, and sure could us a win early this year.

Scoreboard and article - For Day 2. Note - I also just noticed that the scoreboard is always present on each day and updates to the day.... this one is now for the final day, not just yesterday - and that they have a problem with rain today.

Florida's Natural Charity Classic

I am a bit confused what they mean in the above live scoring. They say "The final round has been canceled. A playoff between the second round leaders will start at approximately 4:30 PM.

Does that mean just between the 3 players tied for first on day 2, and does it mean they well play today.... or tomorrow? Also I see by this score sheet that 1/4 of the field did finish.

If the above is so, (3 players only), that sure is going to piss off a fair number of young ladies who had a shot at winning this event.... some of them new LPGA Rookies with high Priority Status.

If I got the message correct then I guess only Jane Rah, Garrett Phillips, and Gern Mendoza (2010 LPGA Rookie - PR16), well fight it out today at 4:30 PM.... hummm.

And Cindy LaCrosse (2010 LPGA Rookie -PR16), who is one shot back, and Angela Oh who is 4 back of the leaders, and Kristie Smith from Australia who is 5 back, and Jenny Gleason who is 6 back, and Dewi Claire Schreefer (2010 LPGA Rookie - PR17), from the Netherlands who is also 6 back, and Elisa Serramia from Spain also 6 back, and Ryann O'Toole as well only 6 back.... are not going to be pleased at all with 2 days of hard effort gone to waste.... if the above trio are the only ones to contend.

Even 10 back of the leaders, one still has a chance. Not a great start the DFT year opener. :-/

Update article from DFT on the winner of their first year event, Angela Oh in the Florida's Natural Charity Classic. :-)

4. Angela Oh Gets First Professional Win In A Playoff

Angela Oh of Maple Shade, N.J., did her heavy lifting in last Saturday’s second round of the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic in Winter Haven, Fla., carding a 7-under 65 for a share of the lead at 7-under 137 after 36 holes with Jane Rah of Torrance, Calif. As it turned out, that move enabled Oh to face rookie Rah in a playoff after torrential rains washed out Sunday’s final round.

The final round was suspended at 1:23 p.m., and at 4 p.m., the final round was canceled. When the rain stopped and Duramed FUTURES Tour officials located a hole that was playable, the two players who were tied after two rounds, were sent back out onto the course for a sudden-death finish on the par-three, 154-yard 17th hole. Oh rolled in a four-foot putt for birdie on the first playoff hole to Rah’s par to grab her first professional win.

“It feels awesome,” said Oh, 21, who was a 2009 LPGA Tour member. “I haven’t played on a course in three months because it’s been cold in New Jersey, so just being able to hit shots on grass and get that feeling back has been great.”

At the time of the suspension, three players -- Rah, Gerina Mendoza of Roswell, N.M., and Garrett Phillips of St. Simons Island, Ga. -- were tied for the final-round lead at eight under, with Cindy LaCrosse of Tampa, Fla., one shot back at seven under. On the other hand, Oh was struggling four shots off the lead with a double-bogey, one birdie and one bogey.

“I was on the 11th green about to putt when they suspended play,” said Oh, who played for two years at the University of Tennessee. “I was three over at that point.”

And the momentum wasn’t coming from Oh’s sticks. But after only one extra hole, Oh was the last woman standing. She won the playoff hole and pocketed the $14,000 winner’s check and a Bulova watch.

“We had eight holes left, but that’s golf,” said LaCrosse, a second-year pro out of the University of Louisville who is an LPGA Tour member this year. “You can’t be too disappointed about it. There’s just too much water out there.”
