Suzann Pettersen has signed a contract to play Nike golf equipment. She gives Nike another world presence in women's golf. Among her six victories last year were wins in the USA, South Korea, Thailand and her native Norway. Her biggest victory came in the McDonald's LPGA Championship. ?

yeah, that's a disappointment for me considering that I've read that club changes for those reasons can significantly detract from a player's game.

I suppose Suzann liked the upfront money as well as the Nike clubs so I hope it doesn't have her taking a step back next year.

I'll bet Lorena's smiling about that development.

Grace Park was hitting them high, long and straight(with the Nikes) before her back problems got serious.

Yeah, I'm sure most players don't mind wearing logos and slogans on their bags and clothes but it must suck to be forced to play with a certain brand of clubs....unless that are the clubs you play the best with. Maybe Suzann loves Nike clubs!??

I guess that's why Lorena waited to sign with Ping until it was a good deal for both parties.Lorena has been playing Ping since she was an amateur in Mexico and did not go with any other clubs.
I always thought it was weird that the best female golfer did not have any golfing sponsors, until she signed Ping (does Lacoste really count?).

I'm glad Suzann is getting the $$$ from Nike, I would hate to see that the clubs take away any of her golf.
Regardless, good luck to her this 2008!

Suzann, as far as I know, comes from a really wealthy family ..... no way she puts short term money ahead of her career goals ..... her career goals ?...... to be the next Tiger Woods ..... Tiger , Nike ..... Suzann , Nike !

Shortcake, if Suzann liked the Nike clubs so much she could have paid for a set herself. I wonder if Nike will mind if she goes back to the set she had so much success with in 07 in case her 08 season goes sour.

In other words I think she did it for the money.
