Great win, and this shows she is the second best player in the world. Karrie and Annika are not having great years and havent won in over a year, Suzann is now the second best player, what a year shes had.

Agree 100%. Great win by Suzann and another fine performance by Lorena. That playoff is what it's all about. Great playing

Yes, Lorena is the top player, but I wonder if Suzann would've hung on to win the Kraft Nabisco, would there be some support for her to have that designation?

At any rate with Suzann's comeback win yesterday and with Annika's determination to overtake Lorena next year as the tour's best player, the powerful girl from Norway might be the one to beat.

Lorena is a more consistent ball striker than Suzann and if Lorena's putter is working she will beat Suzann most of the time. IMO, Annika will NOT regain the number one spot on the LPGA tour. It is also my opinion that Lorena, barring injuries, will be number one for at least the next 5 years.

If Suzann is willing to put the time in over the off season, like Ochoa did before her breakout year, I can see her getting those 2 majors next year, and winning more majors in her career than Lorena.

Maybe, if Lorena gives Suzann her notorious belt and if Lorena scoring average goes over 70 and Suzann below 71, and if Lorena?s GIR goes way down and Suzann GIR goes up and etc. etc. Suzann is doing great but you can not compare her with Lorena. Check statistics and they are worlds apart. I agree with gxer (at last) that Lorena will be number ONE for a long while, unless someone becomes incredibly consistent or Lorena decides to be a USA Citizen, marries, and starts having lots of babies, just like all new USA citizens from Mexico who want to go from a minority to a majority.

This is Suzann threat and I wish her the best, but.....

Elf, if Suzann would'nt have choked the Kraft Nabisco away she still would be within striking distance for the POY trophy. If she works hard in the offseason and really wants to be the top player, Suzann can win that POY award, I believe. The top Rolex Ranking may be too far off but POY really determines who is the best for an individual year.

POY for 2008 is wide open and Suzann is a very good candidate along with around 10 more players (and maybe a big surprise). Nevertheless, based on 2006 and 2007 results, Lorena should be the favorite.
The Samsung should give as a good idea of who has the potential to be Number One in 2008 ( Annika, Natalie and Juli are other three candidates for Number One not playing this week end).
Last minute edit: Have to include Karrie as a potential POY, who is not playing this week end.
