Dot and her group were the early show off the first tee this morning. This was my chance to finally walk this lovely layout, since I devoted most of my time here last year to marshalling. So, in spite of the early hour and the up and down round by Dot, I did enjoy all of the beauty that you must be seeing on the broadcast. This place is beautifully forrested with a huge array of evergreens. Sort of a natural wonderland. The layout is simple with the front nine tracing the perimeter of the course property and the second nine filling in that perimeter.
Anyway, re: the golf - My feeling is that Dot, and certainly Siew Ai, managed the course well. Dot is a strong player, made good yardage on drives, and recovered niclely from lies in the rough. Most difficulties arose for her with aggressive chipping and putting. These greens call for a deft touch, and several times her putts and/or chips sailed passed the hole resulting in the dreaded bogey score. Interestly, after her rund, she went right back to the practice putting area for additional practice. She's got Saturday to recover so let's see what adjustments can be made. :)
