Was the photo insulting?...of course not. What was insulting is that you turned what was a nice thread about Patriot Golf this weekend into yet another opportunity to bring up the Wiener reference again. Why? Hmm?

Then, you got pissed off (or embarrassed) because I called you out on it, and you deleted not only your cutesy photo, but also my response. Why? You didn't want anyone else to see your stupid post?....WHICH HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH PATRIOT GOLF AND EVERYTHING TO DO WITH TAKING ANOTHER DIG AT THE "WIENERS."

The game playing was all on your part, Blue. Let ...it...go.
Wow! The Mother Of All Battle: THE BATTLE OF THE WITCHES!

And they are figthing about Gxer's wiener.

I know you can't be surprised.

This has gotten way out of hand.

I agree with the first statement.

I didn't sensor or delete anything. If asking a poster to respect other posters is censorship, you have a very narrow definition of the term. Whether or nor we "censor," I will consider any complaint by a poster. Isn't that our job?

I also agree with your last statement, in as much as any reference to a hot dog opens the door for your sarcasm.

CG, my understanding is that my job is to try to keep spammers and trolls from muddling up the site with their garbage, make sure posters are staying within the rules of the site and try to address problems that may arise. For example, if a poster reports what they preceive to be a derogatory post directed at a player or other posters, I feel it's my job to address that problem before it becomes a pissing contest.

Rusty owns the site, and his rules are basically the law of the land.

MP
You forgot about another responsibility of a moderator.

To be able to lock down a thread at their discretion.

e.g.) In the Introduction section, I started a 'Hi' thread. Blue and another member get into a spat and at her discretion locks down the thread so others cannot post to welcome me to mylpga.com.

I've never locked a thread, and have only deleted posts that were spam messages or one that referred to a certain player, who seems to draw a lot of attention both positive and negative, in a manner than no player should be referred to.

We can lock a thread, delete posts, etc. but, to me at least, it seems like an extreme measure. We also can move posts to a more appropriate thread. Basically, I look at our job as keeping the site as poster friendly as possible.

Now far be it for me to be a voice of neutrality or objectivity. I don't think that is a precedent I am capable or willing to uphold.

But I have an open question(s) to Rusty, MP, Blue, and any others in a position to answer. I have no wish or intent of winding anyone up with it. I am truly just curious.

What is the role and/or duties and powers of an administrator or moderator?
What are the standards for decorum when charged with this responsibility?

Respectfully...CG
Canadianglen and Mr3Putt...just get use to it. In my 6 years and 4500 plus posts as a member of this forum, these things happen once in a blue moon especially when there's no tournament and everyone gets bored. And most of these frictions happen because of Michelle Wie. She is like a magnet...she has a positive and negative poles and when these two poles collide, heated arguments happen. You should have been here when most of the wiemaniacs were here, before most of them left and created their own website. There was only one occasion that I can remember when there was a big argument in which the subject was politics...and that was when Obama was running for president.
Anyway, when tournaments (maybe the Solheim cup) start again, and the Xman's contest starts, everyone will be friends again.
In this forum, we're just like one big family...and even a big loving family once in a while have disagreements between siblings...but at the end, LOVE always prevails. As we all know, in this forum, most of us never met personally and probably never will, and because of that, it's easy to get at each other's nerve. One thing I know...those members here who have personally met, treat each other nicely.
Maybe, one of these days, someone will propose a MyLpga.com forum member reunion...so we can have a real fight.
Cheers!
