Poll...Will Bivens grant Wiesy a 2008 LPGA tour card?

There is a rumor, of some credibility, that Mrs. Bivens will grant Wiesy a 2008 LPGA tour card based on Wiesy's 2006 season rather than this year, when Wiesy had the wrist injury.

Poll question: Will Mrs. Bivens grant Wiesy that 2008 LPGA tour card?

I suppose the discussion point should be whether or not it would be a good move, but the real quesiton is will Bivens grant the card.

I have voted no, although I do understand why she might be tempted to grant it.
If MW is a non-member she might play those 6 lpga events and then be looking for other tournaments to play. That means she will be probably be looking for more women's events on other tours. If she plays those and things go well in those events, it wouldn't be long before the general golf fan was asking, why is Wie boosting those events and not the lpga tour, and Bivens would be the person asked to give the answers.

However, I would prefer if Wie just qualified for her tour card. She will do this easily anyway and that will stop the nay sayers complaining about that particular thing, although of course they will find plenty of more things to complain about.

Mw poll

Seeing as how Wie is back on this side at least get constructive
How about a poll should Wie do a calendar.
Or maybe should Wie shorten her skirt one more inch.
Or do you think Wie can say a sentence without saying "like ya know"
Or maybe why did the guy quit that used to promote her or was he to blame cause she is shooting lousey golf.
What kinda Spikes does she wear in her shoes maybe thats what wrong with her game.
Or do you think nike is to blame for building her bad clubs.
We the wie fans want to to know and read all we can after all there ain't nobody else that can save the LPGA.
Sorry LPGA but without this young lady you is done for.
Lorena you are only a temp until the real deal gets her spikes and clubs fixed.

I asked Sophie for her opinion, she said no, so I was wondering what the rest of you think.

My hunch is, given that Bivens is a marketer and does not have a competitive sports background, is that she will think that she is just doing her job as commissioner to grant Wiesy a 2008 LPGA tour card.

To be honest, if I were the LPGA tour commissioner, I think I would grant Wiesy a 2008 LPGA tour card provided that Wiesy didn't give me any flack about the rules of membership on the LPGA tour. If she did, I wouldn't give her the time of day!

Yes, she does very often. However she does you the phrase Ya Know quite a bit. She doesn't include the word "like" though. There are many other players who use "Ya know" just as often.

No, he quit because he wanted to start his own business, in other words not to be paid a salary by William Morris, but to be his own boss.

I'm not a big fan of the sumo, but her injury was more to blame than any club selection.

I think you are the first Wie fan to ever say that.

Again, a first for yourself.

Lorena will continue to dominate the lpga for a while yet. I do expect Wie to be the one to topple her though, but not until she is maybe 23 or thereabouts.

IMO, Wiesy isn't going to topple anyone from number one because she will never get there, not even close, not by 23 or 33 or 43.

Why am I the only one to vote yes so far?

Don't let Sophie sway your vote, Sophie had a knee-jerk reaction to my question which was perfectly understandable being that Sophie is a tough competitor, but I'll bet if she had asked Ty first, she might not have answered the way she did.

I'll go with Sophie on this one. She said no, and gave some very good reasons for her answer. As much as Paddyman tried to justify it giver her 2006 season, she didn't do squat in 2007. Yeah, I know, it was due to "injury," but Izzy wasn't given any consideration because of an illness, which was documented.

I did get a chuckle out of Paddy's comments about her qualifying, though. That's the first time I ever read anything from one of her fans say she should have to earn anything.
