Bivens wants another woman to replace her.

Bivens has spoken, so it will be done.
---------------------
The only voice that’s spoken out so far in the belief that the right choice ought to be another woman is Bivens.

Bivens told the New York Times that she felt she didn’t have the support of some LPGA players who wanted the tour to hire a man.

“It was controversial among some of the players,” Bivens told the newspaper in her only interview since she was forced out. “They understood the world of sport and especially the world of golf was male-dominated. I found that strange, but a lot of them were up front about that.

“I hope that breaking that barrier is something that my tenure is remembered for.

“One of the things I have enjoyed in the speculation over the course of the last few days is that many of the candidates for my replacement are women.”

Typical Carolyn taking no blame. "They didn't like me because I'm a woman."

No. They didn't like you because you were incompetent and made them look bad and lost tournaments.

Blue,

You prefer another woman for LPGA tour commissioner as well plus Bivens does make a good point about the lack of some player's support for her as commissioner.

Here is the New York Times article referred to by the golf channel.
--------------------------------------
“What happened over the course of the last 10 days at the L.P.G.A. is cyclical,” Bivens said. “We have a governance issue. How we are run and the constitution of the L.P.G.A. is a problem, not just for me, not just for the former commissioners, but for current and former board members.

“Being an active player and trying to govern an organization don’t go together,” she said. “They are absolutely counterintuitive. They fight each other.”

That may be true. But in a classic and perhaps instructive power struggle, a sports commissioner took on the players. On Monday, the players won.

My first choice happens to be a woman. If a man had the same resume as Orender (president of the WNBA for over four years, almost 20 as an executive with the PGA Tour, sports media experience before that), I'd support him. Her gender is irrelevant.

That's a big difference than saying I support someone because she's a woman, which is what you imply.

Why do you always see everything through gender-tinted glasses, gxer? You're as bad as Bivens in this regard. You might actually be worse.

I have to go with gxer on this one. That was your pick. Having said that, I think the majority of us just want the best person for the job to get it, regardless of gender.

I didn't pick her because she was a woman. I picked her because of her resume. If a man had a similar resume I'd have recommended him just as strongly.

It's a case of picking someone who happened to be a woman not because she's a woman. Unfortunately neither you nor gxer can see that. I'll excuse you because your age and gender may make it impossible for you to understand that concept.

What would you think if Ty Votaw wanted to return as commissioner?
