I don't think it ever works to have a recycled CEO in any organization. At this point, the LPGA needs new leadership.

It's a case of picking someone who happened to be a woman not because she's a woman. Unfortunately neither you nor gxer can see that. I'll excuse you because your age and gender may make it impossible for you to understand that concept.

That was a tad snarky. I had actually posted, apparently, while you were posting. Obviously, gxer isn't that far off if you're that sensitive about the subject. I, by the way, also chose a woman as my choice. Of course, you can't argue with that, so it must be my age and gender that confused me.

I was just responding to what you wrote. I apologize if it sounded snarky. I don't think I'm sensitive on the subject, just tired of gxer always playing the gender card and it sounded like you were joining in, which surprised me given that you usually don't do that. So I figured it must be because you're an old geezer. Just kidding!

If you had read the whole post, I also said that we were more concerned with getting the right person for the job, regardless of gender.

I predicted a woman would be commissioner as well, Marty Evans.

Why is no one considereing the transgendered.

All you talk about is man and women.

If you can find one who is best for the job, I'm all for it.

Why on earth would Ty want to return? He's got (and doing) a great job w/ the PGA Tour.

He left Bivens with a great product. Why would he want to pick up the pieces of what she's eff'ed up now?

I happen to think Ty was a good commish. Yeah, there were some things that many thought were strange...including the "Less is More" and the "5 Points of Celebrity." However, he brought the LPGA out of being stuck in the '70's image-wise. Kudos to Ty for presenting women athletes in a positive light rather than the negativity of a bunch of dykes on spikes image of the past. That's the truth, no matter how harsh it sounds.

He also strengthened the schedule. Less is More worked...surprising to me, I must admit.

Bivens was left with a great product...however, she was also left with the "foreign" issue with the Koreans. She handled part of that badly with the language issue, but whomever comes in is still going to have a major issue with the Korean domination. It will take a huge PR effort to get the US fans to get "there" as far as supporting a tour where the "Kim of the Week" is winning each tourney (and giving an interview post win w/ a translator).

As far as having a woman replace Ms. Bivens....ridiculous. You get the best person for the job. I "voted" for Orender because I felt she's well qualified, not because she's a girl. I could point to many names of women who've been mentioned who I feel are ridiculous to consider.

Lojo, I have to admit that I wasn't a Votaw fan. I thought his "5 Points of Celebrity" was ridiculous, and his "Less Is More" at the time didn't seem to make a lot of sense, either. I was also surprised by its success. After watching the Bivens era, though, I have to admit he did a hell of a job.

As for Ty, that was just to get a response from Blue, I figure that Ty thinks that he is in the cat bird's seat to replace Finchem as PGA TOUR commissioner.
I don't think so, but who knows, Ty and Timmy Boy are pretty tight, or so I have heard.

Lojo, IMO, you and Blue are two peas in a pod, both of you want a woman as commissioner, a certain woman, and if that certain woman is in the running and isn't picked but a man is instead, both of you will have cows right on the spot. I almost wish it happens that way just to see what the two of you write, as I am sure that would be good entertainment.
