I was looking up Tim Finchem's salary for comparison and found this:

The Golf Watch: Tim Finchem's salary drops below the $5 million mark in 2007

which lists Bivens's salary a bit higher in 2007, actually at $710,812

Finchem did slightly better: $4.8 million, but he also had a drop from the year before. He apparently had some performance bonus clause in this contract for 2006.

I came across both the 690 and 710 numbers. There seemed to be more with the 690. Call it an even $700.

Perhaps the higher 2006 is caused by additional compensation such as moving and housing expense adjustments for here family. Not unusuall for an executive that has to move there family. That is her first full year.

Didn't Bivens start as commissioner in July 2005?

The contract extension was for three more years, much to MarinePaul's chagrin.
