Bivens analysis.

I don't know if this article is fair or not but it doesn't pull any punches.

PS: I wish I knew what this was about.
Bivens began her tenure as LPGA commissioner in September 2005 and drew immediate criticism when Barb Trammell, a longtime LPGA official, was dismissed the next month for refusing to give a veteran player preferential treatment

I think it was the incident in which Juli Inkster missed the application deadline for an event and Barb didn't bend the rules to let her in. I can't remember if Bivens over-rode the decision or not. I bet sag, cleo or LoJo will know the answer.

Is this what you are referring to?
If so, what sort of favors do you think Laura wanted?

Davies, for one, won’t shed a tear over Bivens’ departure.

“She never did me any favors,” she said.

It was allegedly Juli Inkster, as you said. I think the tourney was the Wendy's. And....I don't think Bivens over-rode Trammell's decision. But I think Bivens was p.o'ed at Barb (for following the rules).

Initially, I thought it was something to do w/ Beth Daniel, but I recall now that had to do with her being given preferential treatment for missing a one in four rule for some tourney.

This still doesn't make sense. If Bivens wanted "Juli" in and Trammell said no, because letting "Juli" in at a late date, breaks written rules, how in the hell could Bivens justify firing Trammell to the BOD?

Bivens never felt she had to justify anything

I don't know anything about this story, but couldn't the commish overrule her on this or any other issue.

It must be because of the behind the scenes collusion of Bivens and the BOD that Bivens felt she had a free hand to do what she wanted to do and maybe she did, it sure does seem that way.

MP, doesn't it surprise you that the BOD isn't taking any heat for Bivens' actions? The BOD is just as guilty as Bivens is, regarding lost or unsigned events, maybe more so, because supposedly Bivens reported to them.

Why is "Juli" in quotes?
