MP, doesn't it surprise you that the BOD isn't taking any heat for Bivens' actions? The BOD is just as guilty as Bivens is, regarding lost or unsigned events, maybe more so, because supposedly Bivens reported to them.
If the LPGA is run like most organizations, managers can hire and fire people who report to them without the approval of the board for each personnel decision, even if that manager is the CEO and reports to directly to the board.

The personnel decisions will be evaluated and may harm or help the manager in his or her relationship with the board and job evaluation, but generally the board does not micromanage every move.

I am 99% sure it was Juli, but it wasn't made public knowledge. That's why I said "allegedly."

gxer... I don't think Bivens fired Barb Trammell just because of this one incident. I think maybe they locked horns on other issues. Bivens seemed not to realize that Rules are Rules, and you don't make exceptions because it's Juli, or Beth or Annika or whomever.

xman...I suppose Bivens could have over ruled their own LPGA Rules to make an exception for someone like a "Hall of Famer", but that would NOT have gone over real well with others who may have had a similar situation but were SOL.

This wasn't a Rule of Golf...this was LPGA Rules and Regs, etc...Tournament Rules. "Someone" forgot to sign up in time for a tournament, possibly the Wendy's, and Bivens wanted to make an exception and let "them" in anyhow. Barb said no. Bivens got pissed. Barb got fired later on....Bivens got fired much later on.

Anyhow...that's how I remember it happening.

Yeah I know, but it's not like there are 10,000 long time employees at LPGA tour headquarters. Personal matters are not discussed in public so maybe Bivens had a good reason, other than the "Juli" incident, to fire Trammell.
If for example, Trammell had called Bivens, out of pure frustration, some of the names written by Lojo on this board, that might do it.

Yes, I gave Blue a Lojo reason for the firing.
