Juli Inkster No-Cut Streak

Accordiing to the stats at lpga.com, Juli Inkster has not missed a cut for all of 2006, 2005, and 2004. The stats only go back that far, so it may be even longer. That's 61 straight with an average of over 20 tournaments a year. Does anyone know of any other players with longer no-cut streaks?

That's pretty amazing, Blue. It's a stat I never gave much thought to, but very impressive indeed.

Annika went seven years in a row without a cut. She has missed the cut only 2 times in eleven years. Other consistent players are Ochoa with 4 cuts in four years, Paula with one cut in her short career, Seon Hwa Lee who doesn’t know what it feels to be cut.

Juli Inkster missed the cut 3 times in 2003, very consistent in the last three years but far away from Annika´s seven years performance.

So besides Annika's super long streak and Juli's 60, anyone close? Seon-Hwa Lee and Lorena are both only in the 20s. Annika had to start over again this year as well, so is Juli the reigning no-cut champ by that big of a margin? Where's the best source of statistics?

Annika is still the reigning champ of the "no cut" list. Just because she missed a cut in Virginia earlier this year she wasn't dethroned....she just ended her streak. She will be the reigning champ of the "no cut" list until someone surpasses her 200+ mark. If my memory serves me (and don't count on it) I think that her string of no missed cuts was something like 251, or in that neighborhood, at least.
Viva Annika

Buzzer: I think it was something like 246-47... in any case she's very consistent... I hope she comesback stronger next season....

Anyways, I'm sure Juli will continue to make cuts... 2006 was a great season for her, so she'll be in great shape next year..

Blue: At http://www.lpga.com/content/112006SE...Lperfchart.pdf , the LPGA has an awful and heavy chart with the performance of all players in 2006. According to a quick scan the only players who made all the cuts were Juli, Lorena, Paula, Seon, and Cristie who withdrew in one of the events. So you are right, Juli currently has the longest time and events without missing cuts.

Buzzer and Shampi:
I know you two are big fans of Annika, but don’t exaggerate!!! Her record of LPGA events without a cut is probably around 170. To get to your numbers you are probably adding LET events and rounds with her buddies.
She is the best, but don’t over do it.

Thanks Elf. That chart is very informative. Where did you find the 2003 data for Juli? I've been trying to find older data on players and for tournaments.

Prior to missing the cut at Kingsmill this year, Annika had a missed cut streak of 68 LPGA tournaments, dating back to the 2002 British Open. That missed cut snapped a streak of 74 missed cuts dating back to her missed cut at the 1999 Women's US Open. I'm not sure what happened before that, other than that she missed the cut at two of the four majors in 1997.

Annika's an amazing player and I certainly didn't mean to start an Annika vs. Juli war (two of my favorite players), but it looks like Annika's longest streak was 4 years, not 7, and "only" 74 tournaments, not 264, or even 170. Perhaps Buzzer was thinking of rounds played or something.
