Juli Inkster

....... she's a hall of famer ..... equals the course record today .... top five place again this week ...... already a winner this year ....... forty something ! ....... up to today leading the money list ..... mother of a bunch of kids ..... and all round good egg (that's a real big compliment where I come from) and no sign of her own board or even honorable mention here ...... it wouldn't matter anyway because she never got any attention on the old boards when she had one ..... ladies and gentlemen .... time to tip your cap to the awesome Juli Inkster !!!!

Much love to Juli Inkster! She rocks! Sometimes we don't show her the appreciation she deserves!

She is featured on my Safeway International Tournament Highlight Video:

Juli has always been on my A-team, but Shortcake is right....she seems to be ignored in general. I am happy to see a 46 year old play like a 26 year old. Chasing after two lovely teenage daughters must keep her in shape....and her prowress on the course must make them proud of her.
I know I am proud of her and very happy to see her do so well. She just may have a banner year from the looks of it, and I hope she does.
Viva Annika

Hi ya shortcake...what a TERRIFFIC POST by you....you are absolutely correct!!!

let me give everyone something to think about....Julie has done so so many terriffic accomplishments in the past....but think about this....suppose....just suppose...she is NOW REACHING HER PEAK.....suppose this is the Year that she FINALLY HITS HER TOP PINNACLE....now how scary is this...can you imagine the media going ABSOLUTELY BANANAS....this is like the Washington Redskin's "over the hill gang", Jack Nicklaus winning his last Masters, Craig Stadler and Peter Jacobson winning against the young guns.....heck!! if Julie continues her HOT streak and just suppose she gets BETTER than what she is doing now.....this could be the Biggest story of the Year for the LPGA

NOW WOULDN'T THIS BE SOMETHING!!!....and if you think about it....nothing is out of the realm of possibility.....and Julie is playing super dooper golf...some might say this is "wishful thinking"....but the game of golf is a strange game and strange things do happen....ahhh I love it

anyway....just something to think about to pass the time....anyway....see ya.....have a good day

Hi Wiefan .... by the way, Happy Easter ..... you know it never ceases to amaze me how under appreciated she is ...... I'm from Ireland and I don't understand why so many from the US would rather shout for Annika than their own stars like Julie .... also the young US stars are really great but how far have they to go before they could .... as we would say in Ireland .... "lace her boots !"

Hi ya shortcake...do you want to talk about Julie being "unappreciated"....check this out....2005 SBS classic....Julie plays with Brittany Linsicome, and Jimin Kang......there are ONLY 3 people in the WHOLE gallery....Brittany's Mom, Jimin's Mom and ME.....if you divide this up to the three players....I was Julie's representative for the day....now how "unappreciative" is this scene....a hall of famer with only me representing her.....ahhhh the LPGA golf scene is sometimes awfully strange....but that is what it is...we just have to deal with the cards that are dealt to us and make the best of it...and right now...Julie Inkster is making the best of it....good for her....she deserves it....for her past achievements and for her present ones

anyway.....have a Happy Easter.....if you can catch the Easter Bunny....let's make a big pot of Irish Rabbit Stew....see ya

Shortcake: I think you are missing the point.....golf is not an "us vs. them" proposition. That is, until you get to the Solheim Cup, the Lexus Cup. the Presidents Cup and the Rhyder Cup. Then it becomes "us vs. them".....and as we,ve seen just this past year the support for the American Solheim team was enormous.

Players like Annika, Lorena, Laura, Catriona, Liselotte, etc., have earned respect thru hard work and talent. Juli, Paula, Michelle, Natalie, etc., have done the same. Being a free country we are free to pick and choose, whether it is who we support on the golf course, or what we choose to drive....Cadillac, BMW, Chevy, Toyota...... And you and I watch the LPGA and the PGA, not the American LPGA or the American PGA, on TV sets that were not made in this country. And Annika and Michelle are 1 and 2 in the Rolex World rankings, just as Tiger and Phil are 1 and 2 in the World, not just the USA.

Your type of thinking would probably doom the National Hockey League because not one of the teams is all-American. Check out the number of Swedes, Russians, Canadians, etc., that make up each team.

This great country of ours is made up of people from every other country.
Almost every major (and some smaller) cities have their ethnic festivals and attendees are not limited to any race, color or creed. That is one reason that makes us so great.

I choose to support Annika, not because she is a Swede, but because her work ethic and talent make her a great golfer and a greater role model for the youth of this and other countries. I also support Paula, Michelle, Natalie, Juli, Lorena, Grace and Se Ri, among others. Why? Because I am an American and I am free to do my own choosing.

Nice country we live in, eh? Viva Annika

I understand your point Buzzer ...... the bigger issue here that I am trying to highlight is the almost complete lack of interest by anybody in Juli's success ........ look at the Golf Channel yesterday ........ hardly a mention of the fact that she has equalled the course record .... and this board and the old LPGA board , almost nothing as well ......

Shortcake - I'm not sure what telecast you watched yesterday, but TGC mentioned Juli tying the course record a couple of times.

Buzzer's right - we all pick and chose the players we really like, but that doesn't mean we don't respect and admire other players on the tour. If my favorite doesn't do well I'm disappointed, but when someone like Juli wins after so many years on the tour, I'm very happy for her. It's not like you just have your favorites and ignore the other players.

And hey, I don't even live in the "good 'ole USA"!
