| GXER, if you are interested you do the googling or research
Frankily I feel I spend too much time at this site as is. And I don't llike to do googling and secondary reserch or sit with a pad of paper next to me. If it is importan to you, research it. Also, I phrased it with "it I THINK she was #1 in the region. But the following is true; I WAS THERE. (If you don't believe me,again, research it) Every year the Vinoy Resort Hotel in St. Petersburg puts on a one-day invitational for about i8-20 BOYS golf teams in the area. There are about 20 teams and about 80 players. That was when Britt played on the boys golf team. She was the ONLY girl playing among 70+ boys. It was a very windy drizzly overcast day right on Tampa bay; in general playing conditions were lousy. Britt was medalist with a -2, 70. The second place boy shot a 74. I'm sure I recall there were only 4 players who broke 80. Her three teammates, I recall, averaged 84. I rememeber saying, that particular day, she played LPGA caliber golf. I think she was 16. (As an aside, Britt played in a girls (Regional, not AJGA) Innsbrook Christmas Classic. It was a two day 36 hole event. Britt won by 17 strokes. Last edited by blondog; 07-12-2006 at 02:25 PM. |
