No More Soph Q/A

I saw that Sophie withdrew at SBS and went to her Q/A folder and noticed her answer from a few days ago saying she will no longer be doing Q/A on myLPGA.

That's kinda sad news. Sophie always gave honest, informed, and usually very fast answers to questions. I'll miss her humor and information.

It always struck me as odd that "the group" rarely posted in her folder. Her participation, along with Sjodin, was the most unique and interesting part of this site, IMO. I just don't get why gxer was about the only person who regularly asked her stuff.

Anyways, I come to bury the Soph Q/A folder, not praise it.

:( ___ :(

(Couldn't find a sad/crying "smilie", and I don't fell like a dancing blue banana, so I just went old school.)

I dont know Sophie, and haven't seen her play to my loss. Losing her participation is a bit of a blow for myLPGA, and myself.

My quest is still to encourage ladies professional golfers to participate in this site and to make the more interesting for fans, and its a real disappointment to me to lose Sophie.

I have sent her a letter of thanks and invited her to come back anytime. So hopefully we hear from her again in the future.

Rusty, Soph was a friend of the ex-Admin and was participating in his website as a favor to him. Although I gave her a ride at the SBS Open, I did not feel comfortable enough at the time to ask her if she would still visit this site. In case you are not aware of it, she has difficulty communicating in English with those she is not very close with. Although she has known me for several years, she still has trouble getting her words out. If I get a chance later, I will try to ask her if she would drop in here once in a while.

Like many other great athletes, Sophie has a speech impediment known as stuttering.

You can read more about the condition here:

I met Sophie at the Dinah a few years back - another one of the "nicest LPGA players you'd ever want to meet." - Hey, she's got other things on her plate, not least of all is her "job" of playing golf - if she comes back on occassion that'd be great, but if not, well, we can always go see her!

Yes, Sophie is extremely down to earth and level-headed. She also loves the Internet and enjoyed participating. As putter said, she probably has many other things to think about.

This board is addictive. If I was a pro golfer I might have to drop off to focus. But since I have a regular job I can spend my evenings surfing here.
