| Midsummer ![]() ![]() The great Swedish holiday of Midsummer is just around the corner. Do you miss celebrating midsummer in Sweden now when you are on the LPGA tour? Do the Swedish (or Scandinavian) players on the tour get together and celebrate? If so, what do you guys eat and drink? ![]() For you others who are not familiar with this traditional holiday: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midsummer#Sweden |

So sorry about this horribly late response. Just noticed the question... Midsummer was a month ago, but I'll answer the question despite the tardiness ;) We do actually celebrate the holliday on tour. A bunch of the Swedish players get together, make some "swedish" summer food and enjoy a nice dinner. This year it consisted of grilled beef, steamed potatoes, sallad, and then strawberries and ice cream for dessert. Tasty! I've actually not been home for midsummer in quite some time. There always seemed to be a big amateur event during that same time and I believe we missed the celebration more often than not. Unfortunately. I do believe in trying to keep some of the Swedish traditions even though we're so far away from home. It's fun and a good reason for eating a good meal in the company of friends!
