| Internet I just visited your website. Really cool site! It was very interesting to read your blog entry from your Asian trip. So this question is about the Internet and websites. Since this is the Internet age, why do you think some players choose not to reach their fans online? I know you and Sophie are very internet-savvy and there are some other players that have their own websites, blogs, etc. But there are some players who don't have their own website, don't have their own domain, or don't even post anything on the Internet. Why do you think that is? Is it because they don't use computers/internet or because they want to keep a distance to their fans? Thanks for your participation. |

That's a hard question to answer... I'm sure there are a lot of different things going into someone's decision to be active online. The older players, for example, are probably not as usued to computers and internet as the younger ones are. I, for one, use my computer daily - I send emails, use MSN to chat with my friends, use Skype to call for free over the internet, etc... My friends, both in Sweden and over here, asked me to get a web page so that they could follow my travels and adventures without having to search around the web for results and stories. I enjoy playing around with my computer, so I figured I might as well start karinsjodin.com. We spend quite a lot of time in our hotel rooms during the year and it's easy to get stuck by the desk with the computer on. Some players might use this time to book tickets and accomodation, while others write blogs and answer questions to fans. Some travel with their families and prioritize (hmm... wonder if that's a word) other things a lot higher than using the internet. Others might not even have a computer You asked whether I thought people might avoid the internet in order to "keep a distance to their fans". I really don't think that anyone would do that. I think it's more a matter of how the player in question uses the internet herself - if she reads blog entries and forums, she's probably a lot more likely to share her opinions online. If she doesn't take part in this new "internet world" she's probably not going to start her own web page anytime soon I'm afraid my reply is a bit confusing, but I hope that you're able to understand what I'm trying to say! /Karin
