Driving Par 4 holes?

Hi Karin,
I was just wondering if there are many or any par 4 holes that you would attempt to drive on the lpga tour.

I know there are some holes in or around 300 yards.
Do you usually find it too risky to try to hit the green, or do you ever drive short par 4 holes?

Hi Paddyman,

I have a slight problem when it comes to remembering golf courses, so this question is a bit tought for me to answer. But I'll try either way!

I do remember going for a couple of the par 4's in Atlanta and I didn't even need my driver on one of them...

.......

........

.........

Is that really all I remember??? Hmmm...
I think there might have been a hole in Mexico City that was reachable, but the risk was far greater than the reward (ravines around three sides of the green)
The same is probably true for a few other holes on the courses I played last year, but I can't remember any specific ones.

We play a lot of fairly short par 4's, where I hit a driving iron, or something similar, off the tee and have a short wedge left. These holes are too long for me to drive though...
I've always liked longer wedge shots better than the really short ones, which has made me lay up instead of hitting the ball closer to the green. I've been working on those shorter shots lately, in order to better take advantage of my length off the tee. The improvement showed during the tournaments in Hawaii, but I still have ways to go before I hit those shots as well as I want to.

I'll let you know if I remember some more reachable par 4's!

Thanks for your answer Karin. I know a lot of other golfers have said the same thing about wanting full wedge shots.

Jim Furyk on playing lessons from the pros said though, that the shorter the better for him.

Good luck in your next events.
