I'm also glad she got her on folder, but I'm curious as to when she became "one of the more popular" players. I do think she's a great addition to the LPGA, and I believe she'll be a serious contender for ROY.

Hi ya marinepaul....as far as WHEN....I think she has already established this in Japan and slowly broadening her conquest.....I have read an article that her endorsement portfolio is "second" to only one other female golfer....so with this type of exposure....things are bound to get bigger.....and like you say, should she ever get her first LPGA win....let the Miyazatomania in the USA start......should be fun to see.....it can only be a super boost for the LPGA....even Carolyn acknowledges this.....players like Ai can only broaden the LPGA into MORE of a worldwide tour of the BEST players anyway....again, congratulations to Ai on her own folder....have a great weekend....see ya |

It makes you wonder if Ai Miyazato is fatigued with all the globetrotting she has done in the past three months. She set all kinds of records at LPGA q-school, but has not played well since. She had no off-season to speak of. I hope Ai can dial it back up in the coming months and contend for the Louise Suggs trophy. |

Xer, I think she'll be fine. She could be a bit fatigued, but she'll be in the ROY race all year. Wiefan, she may become one of the more popular players, but as of now, her fan base is primarily in Japan. That hardly makes her all that popular yet on the LPGA Tour.

Wiefan writes that he read that Ai is second to only one other female golfer in endorsements. That's strange....Golf Digest....in the February issue.....has Annika #13 in the world, and MW #15. These were the only two ladies listed.....all the rest were men. Combined winnings and endoresements were used. Enigma, thy name is Wiefan. Her closest possible position behind the two females already mentioned would be #51...................so I checked it out. She is not in the top 100. But that doesn't mean she is not a good golfer with plenty of potential. She just needs a little seasoning, and then she'll be fine. Moral of the story.....don't rely too much on the written word when statistics are readily available.......................................Vi va Annika
