I am not sure of the exact calculation for the stength but they most likely do a reverse count of the top x with a certain number assigned to #1,2,3 etc)

So after the tournament you are awared that number of points. When these points are added to your total points, but are weighted based on the week that they are from based on that chart.

Just making up numbers. Lets say I got 10 weighted points for this weeks tournament. In susbquent weeks when the rankings are calculated I still get the 10 points added into my total until it is after 13 weeks.

Now at 14 weeks the results from that week are now only adding 9.7 to my total and what was at 104 weeks now does not count.

And now after 15 weeks the results from that week are now only adding in 9.5 to my total and the next 104th week will drop off.

Only the last 104 weeks are counted. Of course not all weeks had tournaments on all tours so there are no points from that week.

Off course these are made up numbers to illustrate the calculation but you get the general idea.
Exactly. We know all this.

What I would like to see is a display after each tournament of each player in the tournament and how many points she got based on her results in that tournament. I'd also like to see a list of each tournament played on each of the tours and how many points are available for distribution.

This can be figured out, but why should we do the work?

I don't understand why Rolex and the participating tours are not doing this. Is it too much trouble for them? Do they think the fans are not interested?

Who in their right mind wants to see all of this. Hey I'm into math but even I don't want to see this.

Are you sure that you really want to see this.

Why not? The men's rankings provide this every week without getting anyone's undies in a bunch or taxing the brain too much.

Here's the results from last week, linked right from the OWGR home page ( http://www.officialworldgolfranking....me/default.sps ) with the results from the tournaments in the six participating pro tours and the points earned by everyone in those tournaments:

OK, here is the strength of field conversion table. Get out your calculators and you too con figure it out.

One correction from my earlier post, it seems last year the changed the points allocation for the futures tour.

PS Have you figured out I'm just being a wise a$$ and bustin ****.

I am a very simple man when it comes to sports.
Ai has won 4 tournaments.
Kerr has won 2
The money is only a fraction apart.
Ai number one.

Unfortunately, golf is not a simple sport.

I gave up with this a long time ago.

I'd rather have the Rolex people give us the numbers straight out like the OWGR does, instead of treating us like idiots who don't want to know important data.

The weaker field should not be in it as it has weaker players.
American LPGA should have it's number one The Let theirs etc.
If you want to test which tour is the strongest then have some sort of play off.
Um, Wait they already have that. What's it called the Solheim cup?
